Obnoxious “carry for sale” messages
For the last week I had gotten 6 (and counting) messages advertising “carry services” where you pay for help. If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t this an issue that Bungie was trying to prevent and negate?
I think it’s really annoying that all I get in my Bungie mail box are these types of messages! I report, block, and leave the conversations but another just comes in it’s place and the process is being repeated. Every time I’ve went to the “persons” profile (to block the account) they have one low level guardian which just means they are a bot account [u]only[/u] meant to advertise this service. On top of this some lfg postings are [u]still[/u] advertising these services as well!
I don’t know [u]how[/u] you can prevent this really but, since Bungie has mentioned cracking down on these advertisements in the past, there must be [u]something[/u] they can do.

Well, that doesn't come as a surprise to me. I never got any of those messages myself but everybody can see those guys advertising their services on the "Find Fireteam" pages. I've reported a lot but they keep coming back. As another user said below, adding a privacy setting to let us filter who can send us messages would solve the issue of those “carry for sale” messages.

2 RepliesI get those pay to carry messages too as well and done what you done to them. Their mostly steam accounts and unfortunately they can be easily be created and deleted by the scammers.

All MMOs suffer from this. There's no easy answer, you could play whack a moke on accounts, but probably not practicable.

4 RepliesI’m surprised your post is up. Usually bungie protects cheaters and carry services. I barely played last season and haven’t used lfg for the past year until recently. I was surprised how prevalent paid carry advertisements have become. Don’t waste your time trying to do anything bungie never really cares and will usually punish anyone trying to stop it. They can prevent this by not creating this issue in the first place this is produced by bungie when they make the game free and reduce the cost and punishment of advertising carry services to exactly 0

What Bungie COULD do is block messages from going through that contain certain sentences. Then everytime they block an account they can copy and paste the message into said filter. Cause right now I literally get the EXACT same massive -blam!- message with same emojis and everything, just from different users. And before you think "they will just change the message to avoid the filter", they won't cause you dont tell em you are blocking their spam messages. But I already surpassed Bungie's ability for logic so it aint happening.

They can put a stop to these messages by giving us privacy setting that allow us to limit who can message us to friends, clanmates and fireteam members. They can stop them from joining fireteams by allowing fireteam creators to add a level requirement as these accounts are always new and at 1350. I honestly don't think they want to stop them because they would lose out on the money and playtime these carry sites bring them.

I've been getting these spam messages as well I block and report any I get, it's all over lfg too and I report any I see, with the game being f2p they can just make more burner accounts to advertise
