arc warlock lost all its identity

bungie how are you gonna give the 2 subclass defining abilities (ionic traces and chain) to other classes. you gutted solar and now youre gutting arc??

  • they took almost everything in our Arc and they gave it to other classes not the first time they do it what we got from them absolutely nothing thanks Bungie really thanks just say it that you don't want us to play Warlock so we can stop hoping for better subclasses

          • Stop crying. Solar warlock for Gms was the most cracked meta I ve ever seen. You haven't even played arc warlock with the changes yet. Don't jump the gun.

            • Arc 3.0 hasn't even dropped and yall are complaining so much, just wait till it drops with everything and at least try it before saying warlock lost there identity it doesn't even look that bad as from what we've gotten so far warlock can still shock enemies more then titan or hunter

            • Oh dry up. Void warlocks are walking gods and solar warlocks are cracked if you build them right. They still are the only ones with Arc soul and their supers are very distinct. Sounds like you're whining for the sake of whining.

              I wouldn’t say that they’re losing their identity. They’re taking what makes Stormcallers good and making it better. Just because other classes are getting some traits doesn’t necessarily mean Warlocks are getting shafted. Look at Void. Hunters focus on Invisibility. Every class can technically go invisible now, but Hunters are still superior for that. Same with Volatile. That was intrinsically for Titans before, but even though everyone can turn enemies volatile now, Titans are still the best class for that. Then there’s Devour. Everyone can get Devour now if they equip a specific fragment, but Warlocks are the only ones with an aspect that makes it more available and versatile. I’m pretty sure it’ll be the same case for this. Warlocks will specialize in Chaining and Ionic Traces since amplification literally improves Chaining for them only and they have the only Aspect that prioritizes Ionic Traces. Titans, on the other hand, will focus on mobility and damage resistance since they have a new mobile class ability and a damage resistance aspect. Hunters will focus on Blinding and Jolting since they have a Blinding melee and an Aspect that rewards Jolting.

              • Warlocks didn't lost their identity. They're still the whining class. Complaining about their class being bad before playing it, then end up with a very strong class.

                • Please stop using bad keyword you heard once but don't understand They didn't lose their identity ...arc web and trace isn't a identity ...its part of a kit that make the identity Did they lose their old identity ? Yes but they are gaining a new 1 that's way more interesting in exchange The same complaint was made with solar hunter and again they didn't lose an identity they gained 1

                • They are basically making the only thing that's actually unique about your toon is class ability. Eventually every class will share the same skills which it's looking like it's going down that road.

                • I’m a warlock main and have been since day one of D1 and seeing these updates to all the subclasses has been incredible I’m absolutely loving what bungie is doing to these. Am I a little disappointed that warlocks are getting some cool aspects and things to mess around with? Yeah kinda. But I’ve just accepted that bungie has a plan and if arc for warlock sucks then they’ll change it. I’m happy for all the other classes that they get blink and twilight Garrison (kinda). So just be happy that the game is growing. Again this isn’t some hunter or titan but a committed warlock main.

                  • Their design philosophy for all 3.0 subclasses has been for all classes to access everything, but some just do it better. Warlock has inherent bonuses with Arc 3.0 that make it do chaining better than the other two. In other words, chill out. If this blindsided you, it’s only because you haven’t been paying attention.

                        • Honestly, the only thing really bothering me is the Touch of Thunder on titans, in a similar vein to the Touch of Flame on warlocks. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the enhanced grenades, but... I can't help but feel that something they could have taken from Warlocks to give to all the classes would have been chargeable grenades (since grenades are just manifestations of light/dark and therefore would be able to be overcharged by any class and not just warlocks), and the charged grenades have the "Touch of X" effects, instead of just arbitrarily deciding which class gets the neat new grenade effects. I can see what Bungie are doing, they take one bit of kit from each class and apply it to an element to give that element some uniform identity, while then focusing in on a specific part of the element for each subclass. For Warlocks, it's the crowd control, Stormtrance combine with the aoe grenades to make a subclass adept at wiping out large swathes of enemies, a lot of the changes center on that, Chaos Reach is a bit of an odd man out, being more a single target melter, but dragging the beam through a crowd of enemies can do some real work so I'll let that slide. For Titans, its aggression, and giving movement options to make the subclass more aggressive and survivable is great, it makes the class much more about just... as they said, getting up on the enemies face and turning it concave. For Hunters... it seems very similar to the Titans? Get in and mess up your enemies with melee, but instead of barreling through enemies, they sort of weave through them, and a super that's just a Raiden fatality with an aoe?

                          • Because they define the identity of the class differently than you do. ...and this Warlock main thinks that both Void and Solar are vastly better than they were this time last year. What has changed is that Bungie doesn't give you powerful builds out of the box anymore. You have to build them yourself...but the pieces are there if you set yourself to constructing a powerful build. The build I'm currently running is arguably overpowered for PVE play....and I still have room to refine it even more.

                            • Warlocks are strong and they are getting stronger. All this negativity on a subclass you have never even played with or seen in action is not warranted. The tickle fingers with ionic blink and landfall is going to be a menace in pvp. In PVE warlocks are staple plus they are the only ones I know of that are getting a void buff in arc 3.0. Hunters are getting blink and titans are getting hunter dodge the warlock is turning itself into a ball of lighting and flying across the map with auto zap. Just wait and see.

                              • Chain was never part of the warlock identity. Dunemarchers do it. Arcstrider does it since day 1 of D2. Riskrunner. Trinity ghoul. Warmind cells. Also you are gaining blind ...which warlock never had.

                                • It just feels like Bungie guts the warlock classes to make the keywords. Then the keywords need to be given to everyone, so hunters and titans keep what makes their subclasses special while warlocks get just the basics. Warlocks got 1 new toy and no real buffs to existing abilities outside of amped and how it affects your charged melees. The one new thing seems like it’s going to be flashy but impractical just like Consecration, but the other aspects didn’t receive any major overhauls like Solar titans did. I play all three classes, but I tend to spend most of my time on warlock since it was my favorite in d1. I’m prepping my Titan for next season now as what we’ve got right now seems really underwhelming for a concept with so much potential.
