Question on character use of abilities
Something I've been wondering is if in the lore, can a guardian use any subclass ability at any time? For example, could a titan drop a bubble and then immediately throw a fire hammer? And again, I'm just talking about for story telling purposes.

In lore, Guardians can actually use their abilities with much more flexibility and ferocity if necessary; the subclass system itself is there more out of identity rather than a strict limitation. Like Lasombra mentioned, it seems to be closer to a mana pool or form of stamina, and the limit of that varies between Guardians. Ability use mostly comes down mostly to imagination and experience/discipline. Some Guardians, such as the Vanguard, can repeatedly spam their supers if necessary. Other Guardians, Like Felwinter and Shaw Han, have used their Light to mimic that of other classes.

From what I vaguely recall, the wording sounds like it works like a mana pool. Things deplete X amount of energy per use and Guardians store a varying amount, based on their personal strength. They just don’t let us operate like that in the game cause it’d be bananas. Watch any cut scene and you’ll see the game vs the lore is very different. Never seen a shield in any cutscene or web comic. Bullets make full contact.

Yes there are several lore examples like osiris during season of the hunt, and I believe ikora did as well. Felwinter even did a shoulder charge despite being a warlock, so technically each class can learn each others moves.

Yes it’s possible. The gameplay mechanics don’t reflect what’s possible in the lore cause then otherwise we’d be absurdly OP to the point that we wouldn’t even need to use our weapons anymore and just go full on anime mode
