The boss arena in grasp of avarice is the cryopod hold for the passengers in the colony ships.
But, they loaded on two weeks before the ships launched. Not all the ships launched. Does that mean those pods are still filled with dead people? Also, what was with the Titan? Was he the one that killed the other guardians we saw?[spoiler]licks finger [/spoiler]

As you've noticed that is the Pods Area, the part of the colonial ship that should have brought in cryo sleep humans away from earth [i](probably before the Collapse for what we know)[/i]. And yes, it's possible that those were full of human bodies. I say "were" because during the last Boss Fight we open them and Loot falls, so probably the bodies were removed in order to make space for it. As another user already told you, the Titan in the Pod is Wilhelm-7. He went mad for greedy and killed almost all his companions[i] (some of them kill each other, for example the Titan Pershing was killed by the Hunter Pershing)[/i] and fired to its own Ghost, Bismark.
