First, I think it's only reasonable to put Icarus dash and heat rising into the same aspect.
No. Icarus dash is essentially a second class ability. It is already strong enough and is getting a small buff soon. Heat rises provides numerous benefits from shooting weapons in the air, increased in air accuracy, increases air time, melee energy from airborne kills and soon healing when you consume a grenade. You’re not getting a secondary class ability on top of that.

 • I'll be honest, that part was born from my hatred of not having something other than Icarus dash or heat rising to run instead (specifically, bottom tree dawnblade's "scorched enemies ignite on death" or a dedicated healing aspect). I do understand that these two are powerful, powerful enough to warrant their aspect split, but I feel as though their strengths lie in pvp and speedrunning, and outside of that they don't really help kill -blam!- faster, except for heat rising's combo with sunbracers. It's a tough balance to strike, but I think there might be a mid-ground where putting those two together is alright. I mainly suggested that to make room for a different aspect. They could also just leave it as is and add an extra aspect to warlock, I'd be fine with that too. I just don't want to use neither heat rising nor Icarus dash unless I'm going fast. It's a personal thing. Also, since you seem more informed on the subject than me, how would heat rising be affected if it activated off of consuming a melee instead of a grenade?

All classes could use new aspects. That the best part about subclass 3.0 though. Bungie can add them at any point in the future. The buff coming to heat rises gives cure when consuming a grenade and an increased benefit when consuming the healing grenade. Switching over to consuming your melee would make the second half of that buff invalid and would make heat rises far too self sustaining. You can keep up your heat rises chain with build crafting, but it requires you to spec into it rather than it just being handed to you with no compromise. I don’t see Bungie ever changing it off of grenade.
