Appear offline still doesn't work towards hidding from Bungie friends and clan roster(steam)
I believe others had mentioned this many times, this is a major privacy issue.

A lot of times when I’ve had a bad day or have a bad headache, I just like to play the game by myself. It does get annoying when Bungie friends/clan members start spamming you with invites because they can see you’re online. Now, I’m sure other people and will come -blam!- all over this post saying “just tell them you don’t want to play”. I do that and they always understand, but sometimes I’m just feeling down, to the point where I don’t want to take the effort to communicate. We all get that way sometimes. It would be nice (in any game) to truly show offline

3 RepliesMajor privacy issue? How is your friends seeing you online a major privacy issue? Better yet, why should we care if you want to hide that you are playing the game. If you are playing, and it says you are playing, then stop complaining that it simply is truthful that you are online. Why you so desperately need to hide the fact you are playing a social game is beyond me.

I dont know about a major privacy issue but I do agree it should be a thing. Also, I always chuckle when people come here and vomit solutions like you don't already know what you can do. Good thing we have xx69crotasballsackxx to clue us in on life choices lol.

Maybe this is a case by case kinda deal because if I'm appearing offline and launch into Destiny no one seems to know I'm on including Bungie/steam friends but the moment I hit appear online I'll get a party invite lmao

Two different things and well players asked for this, it took years for some platforms to get this feature and Bungie just added this feature so just wait. Its not a privacy issue in the slightest by the way id like a long legal explanation on why you not appearing online is a privacy issue

While I do agree that the game needs to respect my online status that is defined on a given platform, I'm not sure how this would constitute as a major privacy issue.

That's right - even if you have someone blocked on your platform AND in the game, they still put you together. Yet another piece of proof how critically low the real population is, that they have to resort to ignoring your privacy settings multiple times just to fill a lobby. Edit: I am enjoying the one extreme scenario privacy violator supporters like to bring up - "tHeY'lL jUsT bLoCk EvErYoNe" ok and?? Is that gonna affect you? I mean realistically, not this fantasy scenario where every player blocks everyone else.
