Bug - Hunter Aspect "Trapper's Ambush" not registering as melee

I have tested multiple interactions with the Hunter's "Quickfall" ability on the "Trapper's Ambush" Aspect. The Quickfall ability fails to register as a melee on multiple perks, exotics, and fragments despite the smoke bomb base ability registering correctly as a melee. Here are the results of my findings: 1. Interaction: Void Class Fragment - Echo of Leeching a. Ability: Smoke bomb - Result: Gives health and triggers regen on kill with direct hit and explosion b. Ability: QuickFall - Result: Fails to give health or trigger regen on kill 2. Interaction: Void Class Fragment - Echo of Exchange a. Ability: Smoke bomb - Result: Gives grenade energy on kill with direct hit and explosion b. Ability: QuickFall - Result: Fails to give grenade energy on kill 3. Interaction: Exotic Helm - Assassin's Cowl a. Ability: Smoke bomb - Result: Gives invisibility and health regen on kill with direct hit and explosion b. Ability: QuickFall - Result: Fails to trigger health regen, invisibility untestable due to aspect 4. Interaction: Exotic Arms - Sealed Ahamkara Grasps a. Ability: Smoke bomb - Result: Reloads weapon on direct hit and explosion b. Ability: QuickFall - Result: Fails to reload weapon on hit 5. Interaction: Weapon perk - One-Two punch a. Ability: Smoke bomb - Result: Tricky, but can get the buff to work on direct hit and smoke explosion, but direct hit will consume before explosion goes off b. Ability: QuickFall - Result: Fails to buff any aspect of this.

I'm glad to know that, just for reference. Although, as far as I can remember it never says in the tooltip that it's *supposed* to count as a melee. It says you *spend* your melee energy by using it. In other words, I don't think it's a bug. A bug is an unintended side effect, and I haven't found anything online or in-game where Bungie actually claims it's supposed to count as a melee, only that you can instead use your melee energy to activate it, giving up your actual melee. So with Quickfall and Snare Bomb, you get to choose whether to use your melee energy for the actual melee (Snare Bomb) or for Quickfall. I could, of course, be wrong. And personally I think it should count as a melee, but according to the tooltip, at least, it never claims that it *is* treated as a melee. I guess all I mean is that it might not *technically* be a bug. I'm sorry lol. I am a software engineer for a living, so when people call something they don't like about a program a "bug" I get frustrated. But that's just me. I'm not saying you can't do that. x) I'm not even arguing or saying you're wrong. I might remember wrong, too. I'm just saying that afaik it never *claims* to actually be a melee. If Bungie does claim that it's supposed to count as melee, then of course it IS a bug, but I haven't found anything like that, personally. Some other abilities are the same...again iirc. But then Hunter is only my "off-main". I play Titan usually. xP Of course I still appreciate the info so I can plan accordingly so thank you for the testing! :)
