TL:DR- fighting against giant (possibly endless) waves of enemies as a “feel good” activity. - Wave-based/endless activities have been seen before and are loved by the community. The old festival of the lost event, going through branches that get harder and harder, was an incredibly fun activity. While we could just go to patrol zones to endlessly fight enemies, I believe having a dedicated and permanent activity for this would be one piece to add that would help “finish the puzzle”, especially for endgame players. This activity could work similarly to the oracles encounter in the vault of glass. Up to 6 players join up to defend points as wave upon wave of enemies descends, growing ever more difficult with each wave. The activity could be wave-based and end with a “boss” wave; however, I think fighting until you simply can’t fight anymore is the way to go. It would be fun for everyone, but especially for those who are feeling burnt out. It would certainly be a “feel good” activity and players could compete to see how long they can survive. We have fought waves of enemies, but guardians have never really seen an entire ARMY of enemies approaching them. I imagine it would be similar to how in the battle of twilight gap, Shaxx and many other guardians defended the city against the unstoppable waves of fallen, stretching themselves to their limit. Really driving that feeling of “if they make it through this wall, it’s the end” while having to fight against giant waves of enemies and having people like Zavala or Shaxx cheer us on would make for an incredibly interesting and enjoyable activity. - Let me know if you agree or disagree, and feel free to share any of your own thoughts in the comments.
