Weapon Crafting Sounds Awesome, But I Am Prepared for Limitations (my thoughts)

So to me, it sounds like we're basically starting to dive into "Weapons 2.0". I am all hype for it. Armor 2.0 has had plenty of time to shine and now we get to start digging into the very elements that make a Destiny 2 weapon. Finally! And of course, with every preview comes speculations and curiosities from the players about new features. I have my share of ponderings here too. One that seems to come to mind repeatedly for me every time I think about weapon crafting is how... trait combinations are handled with weapon crafting. Hmm... Let's say that you want a hand cannon with Rampage and Kill Clip on it at the same time. It's not unheard of. We had Kindled Orchid before which was a hand cannon that could roll that trait combination. It was a great weapon. Would it be possible to craft a hand cannon with that roll? I know the balance of power and incentive is at play here. If I were to craft a weapon like that, my incentive for hunting (or at least using) random rolls from other activities will drop probably pretty easily. On the other hand, if I couldn't craft that, I may hunt for something in the future that has a roll like that from random drops but my incentive for going through the effort of crafting a weapon from scratch could (but not necessarily) drop. This is exactly why I'm prepared to face limitations when it comes to weapon crafting. I'm not expecting to be able to make a hand cannon like that. That would just be... seriously amazing but everywhere in the Crucible. But that doesn't cover all of my curiosities about crafting. I'll continue just a bit more. Let's say I have a Valakadyn auto rifle with Tap the Trigger and Rangefinder from a random drop (and I did). And let's say I could craft Valakadyn if I wanted to. Would I be able to craft it with the same trait combination if that combo were to currently exist on random drops? Or would certain traits be limited to certain slots regardless of the specific gun and based off of weapon crafting itself? Or would they be limited to certain slots by the other way around? The information that was provided doesn't really cover this bit at all. It was said in an earlier TWAB that there's a possibility that weapons from older seasons that were discontinued could return via weapon crafting, so I think this is a fair thing to wonder about without looking like a silly boy. The last thing I'm wondering is if we'll see origin traits on crafted weapons, but... I don't know about that one. I'm pretty sure we'll be waiting until the 22nd to answer our own questions, but I just thought I'd share this here. And I encourage everyone to keep an open mind about this rather than expect something specific so perhaps you may avoid some disappointment. Can't wait though.
