My refresh rate dies when I play destiny 2.

I have a relatively new gaming PC that I have been using for the past 6 months. The monitor supported 120hz and I was using it until a few weeks ago. I was playing Destiny 2 and during a particularly taxing sequence my refresh rate seemed to just... die? The entire screen started flashing black and I could not see anything. I'd been playing D2 just fine on the this laptop for a couple months before this with 0 issues, as well as other relatively taxing games such as nier: Automata and Doom Eternal. I searched up what could have caused it and by setting the refresh rate on my monitor down to 60hz it fixed itself. A bit of a bummer but I was fine with it. That was about 2 weeks ago. But just yesterday I was playing D2 and it started again, when my monitor is already set to 60hz and I cannot change it to a lower setting. I've tried swapping back to 120hz and then 60hz again but it doesn't work. Updated my drivers and it still occurs. It doesn't seem to happen when I play other games? It also seems to stop after about 5 minutes after I close destiny. It's very upsetting for me. I have no Idea what could be causing it and this Laptop is still relatively new. I don't believe the chances of it being damaged are likely, and neither do I jostle or move it too frequently which may have caused damage to it internally. I have no Idea of what to do. These are my Laptop Specs. Please help? Any type of help or just suggestions would be great, as I'm becoming relatively desperate at this point. • Number one at first you said PC and then you clarified it's a Laptop. Laptops no matter the specs are "NOT" recommended for playing D2. Bungie has clearly stated that yes it may play D2 but they do not offer any support for any laptops. I played D2 just fine on my laptop nearly a year ago when I bought it i7 10750 six core cpu and RTX 2060. It was far to hot to keep playing it all the time so I switched back over to Xbox One X. It never crashed it never acted up but the temps were near 90c all the time. Laptops just run hot and on a demanding game like this I would never try to play it with 180f heat blasting away out the thing all day ever again. Short answer there is no help for this problem other than my suggestion don't play D2 on that machine or you will continue to have problems. Xbox One X 4k and 30fps smooth as silk. I gave up the higher framerates @ 1080p and I am happy till I get a Series X hopefully soon.
