Could everyone be just overreacting?

I just gotta say, that with any change, bungo has been pretty good about making improvements where they can. Read from someone that the whole masterwork giving orbs thing actually takes the most memory on guns. This change could actively be for the better of weapon crafting. It's also not like we can't generate orbs of power or charged with light from different sources. Elemental Wells could be very good now including other charge with light mods, like specific weapon rapidkills. Taking charge was a good but meh mod and I'm fairly certain hands on will be here next season, PLUS, with us being able to unlock all the artifact mods, builds should be flexible. I think what we should be asking for is more energy slots in armor, up to say 12 as a good number. Let's more creative influence on builds and less stress.

  • To me it is more of a wait and see than kicking off now before I have even tried the changes. Also you have to remember the reason Bungie gave so the order change is due to other changes been made and have not seen anyone complaining about them.

  • Something that seemingly nobody pays attention to is, with that system, even whites will generate orbs. Now, with crafting behind the corner, as we will be able to make near-perfect wrapons for ourselves, rarity won't matter as much. It might even be reworked. Time will tell.

    • Probably not since bungie has a track record of trying to find ways to make people stop using certain seasonal mods. Why do you think no one uses warmind cells anymore? Bungie found ways, and now they place a mod you need for charges with light builds (orb generation) on a key item for charged with light builds. If that wasn’t their intention this would be a perfect mod for a ghost shell

      It’s just a continued form of sunsetting…. Go slow 2.0. I think that with the many mods that use orbs of light you will find the cost of inserting them will dramatically go up in WQ. Super regeneration has already been hit hard with their nerfs to exotics, kills, forced levels and now orbs. A space magic game without space magic… sounds like D2 on launch but worse.

      • The change doesn't bother me. The Masterwork concept was a band aid fix for a bad game. They've spent pretty much the past 3 years rebuilding D2 from the ground up, keeping gameplay on life support with as many band aids as possible. Not being able to generate orbs in D1 with weapon kills didn't hold anyone back but now the community is just spoiled. That being said, the only thing I'm looking to is weapon crafting. I want it to be good but I'm not getting my hopes up at all.

          • I think they are let’s be honest not everyone master works weapons on the orb generation alone heck some might not even touch the charged with light mods Besides that I won’t my make own conclusion until I actually try this change out I know there’s a lot of posts saying it’s bad but truthfully we don’t know that it’s only from what info we’re given that these ‘claims’ are coming from

            • I thought it was each gun index of all the perk combinations, that took up the most memory? 🤔Seems the data for masterworking a gun and then orbs from it wouldn’t take up as much as ALL of the hundreds of perks combos it has to remember.

            • It's a pretty unnecessary change which they do constantly. I'm not going to complain about it cause I really don't care but they change things for no reason all of the time. People just like to type angrily at something to vent their frustrations. But I would like more options than a helmet mod.

              • Never…. People are never prone to overreacting on anything…ever. All the news I watch have reporters and anchors that just give the straight news and nothing else. Politicians never overreact, and because they stay calm, citizens do as well. To act as if the gaming community is any different than every day citizens is quite frankly a slap in the face. The changes to orb generation will be nothing short of devastating for the game. We’ll all be playing a different game the day after witch queen drops because D2 will simply be unplayable. How dare you say otherwise!

                • I’m already accepting the change and trying out different builds revolving around well mods instead. Work in progress, but getting used to it now so when WQ drops, it won’t be that big of a deal for me.
