Spoiler Alert - Someone is going to die, but who?
Figured I’d ask the forums what we all think about this? Personal takes are as follows
Savathun -A bit too obvious, we all know she likely has to die to acquire her light/ghost, but I feel in this case, the lore tab is referencing something more permanent…
Mara - A fun theory, but ultimately she has an unresolved plot line with Riven, and a throne world of her own, so I reckon she’s safe.
Crow - Nah, you don’t spend this long setting up a redemption arc to kill him off, plus Hunter Vanguard has his name on it.
Petra - Maybe? I’m not sure what else she has left to contribute to the story, might set up the path for the return of Sjur Eido (Actually, interesting thought, what if Sjur is the raid boss somehow? Seem to remember she had a prophetic dream about Mara and Uldren stood atop one of the Pyramid ships and she mentions, "I was dead, I think. Or...trapped? Like in a maze. But pretty close to figuring my way out.")
Osiris - This is who my money’s on, I don’t think he’s dead …yet. I think Savathun will genuinely keep her word and return him to us/Saint, they’ll be a heartfelt reunion followed right by some good old fashioned tragedy.
Eris - I mean, we’ve seen her in the trailer, but it could be a red herring, I’m not sure what else she has to contribute to the story at this point.
Mithrax/Caitel/Zavala - All safe, I think they’re just being put on the back burner for a bit.
And lastly, Us? (As in the player character) - This ones a bit of a spin foil hat theory but it’s not quite been revealed how we’re gonna end up in Savathun’s throne world, perhaps the whole “hunt the truth” is us slowly piecing together that we died during the end of season finale, maybe we are indeed a product of her mind (as she has stated everything is in her throne world) but we can maintain our individuality and find a way to resurrect ourselves?
Alternatively maybe she steals the player characters light killing them, thus scoring a two for one in having light of her own and removing her biggest threat, and the “us” in the throne world is a part of us she took accidentally with the light.

At the end of the season there will be an additional cutscene where there's ominous music and the camera slowly pans up to where Spider smugly sits and then blam. He goes into cardiac arrest and just fkn dies and Petra walks in with her gun raised seconds later and looks disappointed.

Or perhaps when we did the leylines, mara somehow included us in her throneworld so if we die, we don't permanently die.

1 ReplyThere’s this kid who claims to be the nephew of a Bungie employee and he seemed sincere. We talked a lot and he said that with Witch queen Oryx will be resurrected by a ghost. Kings fall will return. All sunset raids will be put in a weekly rotation (except SOS & EOW) savathun will not die or be resurrected at the end of this season. And that’s about it…I told him if it is true don’t spoil. Just take it with a grain of salt of course.

She’s a stuck-up, self-righteous jerk that had no respect for us, guardians, or Zavala for that matter and was somehow kept to the back of the fight the entire time while powerless Zavala and the rest of us went hand to hand with giant alien monsters for her to ultimately be given a space in the tower to continue her disrespect and try to convince us that SHE came up with clans?! In The Witch Queen teaser trailers Ikora is shown as the leader of the Vanguard, so it's probably Zavala who will die.

We're not going to lose any major vendors. Zavala, Saint, Eris, Petra etc will be fine because otherwise a game mode or destination won't have a vendor. Ikora though is a vendor with literally nothing going on, so she is at risk. Savathun is too obvious, and I don't think she's as simple an antagonist to be a one and done. Osiris is probably dead lets be real. I doubt Savathun is suddenly going to be honourable and return him alive, after all his 'return' to us is the reason we're helping. Once she's free of her worm, she has no reason to keep Osiris alive, if he ever was.

Dude is dead. She only said she would return him. No mention of him being alive. What else would drive Saint to kill her? As for your spinfoil idea…we can go into Hive throneworlds. We did it to kill Oryx and Crota. No spinfoil needed for us going there. Likely she invited us, she’s awfully confident now that she has infinite lives and is being in there is about as good as a disadvantage as it gets.

From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold. but idk prob the warlock bald lady
