So I was bored one day looking through my vault when I noticed that the item descriptions for the old curse of Osiris prophecy (the one we had to do quests to craft on mercury) weapons don’t just tell a random story, they tell what happened in dlc that came out years later.
The energy hand cannon, Jack Queen King 3, describes the forsaken story
The kinetic pulse rifle, Machina Dei 4, describes shadowkeep and hints at the exo stranger returning in beyond light
The energy sidearm, travelers judgement 5, I believe describes savathuns arrival, revelation, and subsequent stealing of the light, even referencing what I believe what may potentially be caiatl’s legion of cabal continuing to go to war against the hive.
If you have the old curse of Osiris prophecy in your collection or vault, definitely look into this and spread this knowledge around

Edited by Shockwave 989: 1/20/2022 11:00:55 AMI highly doubt the prophecies extend further than Forsaken. Over the years since CoO people have simply adjusted their interpretations of incredibly vague prophecies to attempt to fit them to the current storyline. Traveler’s Judgement 5 for example, is very clearly about the Red Legion and Ghaul. The Red Legion ignited the sky with a bombardment as they invaded the City. Ghaul dreamed of being chosen by the Traveler. The Legions fiery blade could be metaphorical, or it could be literal giving Ghaul’s first use of the Light is as a Dawnblade. The name of the gun also refers to both Ghaul’s hope to be judged worthy and Ghaul’s death upon being judged unworthy.

Yeah the major beats were set in place back during base D2. The Travelers Vision cutscene at the end of the campaign. They did that before they knew what the Darkness was. So they are using the framework from the OG storyline and then stitching it together with the new storyline with the seasonal storylines. The irony is rich.

The description of West of sunfall 7 could be witch queen

Edited by Demon_XXVII: 1/16/2022 6:58:02 AMI haven’t read the others but From the Travelers Judgment 5 lore https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/travelers-judgment-5
A visitor ignites the sky, and in the truth of light it dreams: Above the dead and yet-to-die, a legion's blade with fire screams.

A visitor ignites the sky
- that could refer to the Traveler itself, the threat of Ghaul or just Osiris/Us/Guardian wielding the light
Above the dead & yet to die
- Hive/Vex/Cabal troops/casualties
A legion’s blade with fire screams
- this was the time when Dawnblade was introduced https://www.polygon.com/destiny-2-guide-walkthrough/2017/6/1/15695300/warlock-dawnblade-subclass-super-grenades-glide-rift-talents-attunement-of-sky-tree

It's already been Discovered. Nice one on seeing it though.

He said something along the lines of you won't truly know the meaning behind them until they happen, because enemies...and even then it's still up for debate. 😐

It's almost as if they had a long term plan 🤔

I’m apt to disagree with what each of those prophecies allude to. In the article that recently outlined a lot of the issues within bungie over the last few years, it was mentioned that the narrative teams were often completely out of sync. This last year of destiny is the first time that the narrative has truly had a course and a plan. Machina Dei 4 is simply about the arrival of the traveler: “a charnel but effulgent orb - beacon in a loathsome dark” “Fêted, fetid corpses rise - a long too absent gibbous spark” is about the resurrection of guardians Jack Queen King is not as straightforward, but the “Three Nobles” that wage their “hopeless war” is likely story of Oryx, Savathun, and Xivu Arath, and how Oryx stood above the three of them (initially). Traveler’s Judgement 5 is about the Red War. “A visitor ignites the sky” is Ghaul attacking the city.

But can they generate orbs 😎

The idea of hinting at a story piece by piece through item descriptions dark souls style is really cool. If only the story was actually a coherent and compelling narrative.
-
Wow, an actual lore post. Quite rare these days
-
Yep, there have been many threads on the Internet breaking this down for years . Pretty cool that they did that

Don’t forget the Spoiler Alert sidearm. It was introduced during warmind with the description “someone is going to die”. Then Cayde died in forsaken. Now the sidearm got reintroduced this season. Coincidence? Probably. But interesting how bungie gives hints through weapons.
-
Yes. Most players have known this since season 2. Also the hunter's sealed ahamkara's grasps do that too.
-
Lucky i got them all when i was grinding out for the Sadira shell, ill have a good read now thanks to you mate.

Bungie hides stories everywhere. Which is neat, and frustrating
