Iron Banner has PATHETIC post match loot drops.
With how large the loot pool is for IB and how frustrating an experience it is completing the bounties for many players, on top of the fact it only comes around once a month, at the very least you should be throwing us a freaking bone with post match rewards. I would trade tokens for guaranteed post match drops after every game win or lose. Seriously, it takes a minimum of 4 wins to guarantee 1 piece of gear and up to 7 losses for the same via tokens. I think my record for going without a single post match drop is like 10 games. This is DEMORALIZING and imo is incredibly unhealthy for the playlist as a casual pvper like myself doesn't feel like my time spent in IB is worth it as I could be grinding PUBLIC EVENTS for more loot via umbrals. If IB was some super casual pvp mode that was always around, it would make sense for the loot to be somewhat rare, but as it is a limited time event with power enabled and sbmm (at least in freelance), it should drown us in loot. I remember back in D1 I pretty much NEVER played pvp as it frustrates me (still does), but I always made a point to play IB a little bit because I knew at worst after playing for an hour or 2 I was likely to come away with like 4-6 pieces of loot + whatever I got from rank up rewards and what I might buy from the vendor. That's the IB experience I remember and the IB experience I miss.

2 RepliesI remember d1 banner. After every match you would see who gets what. Always a banner weapon though in one of two matches. Never a non banner legendary.

And the other problem. World loot pool drops in IB. I think i have done like 40 matches this week...i got 1 IB weapon out of all those matches and no armor.

Iron banner really needs to get the trials rewards system. Each bounty should reward 2/3 iron engrams to keep in line with the current 50 tokens. Turning in/focusing these engrams would work the same as at saint 14

I would say there's change coming, but we all know that they know this already. It's a matter of not caring till the last minute, then they make a small change and act like it was something they worked on for months just to get people to come back and play. If it dosent make them money then it's not on their top priority of what needs to be fixed.

The token rewards system is godawful. Nothing like consistently getting 62 poorly rolled armor pieces and bad rolled weapons after turning in 600 coins.

IB is absolute garbage….not a single thing has changes since D1. Love grinding away to get blue drops….boring AF and nothing to play for, except for Pinnacle gear. Big whoop

Really? I LOVE getting Sorrows Verse over and over again at the end of each match (sometimes double drops mirroring my normal crucible experience) - a weapon I actually don’t like at all. Nothing rewards good time invested like something you’ll never use. I also LOVE getting the same weapon for all 4 bounties - done them with two characters (I normally only play one character but I’ve been messing about with another one for the change up) - I got x4 Time Worn Spires, and then on the other character x4 Occluded Finalities. They need to change the reward system. End of.

The experience is so hit or miss though. I’ve gotten a few matches that were actually not bad, competitive and I felt like trying to play my best made a difference. Then on the other had you get matches that were utter tripe, you just throw your hands in the air and go .. wtf, why?

6 RepliesI would seriously consider just doing ib for the 4 bounties, then keeping them for next season xp (and a chance to get a new weapon). As soon as they are done, get the hell out of dodge.

It's just gambling, and the odds of getting a 5 out of 5 are very very slim. I'm not sure about IB, but back when people were farming Spare Rations, I saw someone do the math, and the odds of getting THE God roll were 1 in upwards of 3000. And that's just the odds when a Spare Rations actually dropped. The odds were actually much much lower because other items would drop when you were farming. So in IB, with all the armor that seems to drop way more(maybe I'm just unlucky,) the odds of getting something you specifically want have got to be just ridiculous. You're better off farming for Vex.

I’ve heard rumors that iron banner will be getting a loot overhaul for like trials did. I really hope it’s true, because currently trying to grind a specific weapon with the rolls you want is near impossible. It took 3 iron banners to get a single multimach with one for all.
