How is this anything like what we "asked" for?

Bungie we asked you to give all exotics catalysts so we could generate orbs with ALL of our weapons. Your response to this is to add mods that limit what weapons can generate orbs based off damage type? If well mods -blam!- you on weapon element type and now orb gen does the same; I think we need to bring back primary weapons with element types like D1Y1 and give us the option to make any weapon any element we want like D2Y1. Honestly this is just as bad as the transmog system we ask for something simple and you create a mountain out of it. All you needed to do was maybe lower the threshhold where any weapon with a masterwork lvl of 1 or higher can generate orbs. Someone else suggested adding mods to the ghost but I think it should go further. The mod on the ghost should be 0 energy cost and just let ALL weapon multikills generate orbs. Anything less is a nerf to every weapon in the game. It has to be 0 energy cost bc total random armor stats suck donkey nuts every single drop and I have to have as much of an exp bonus as I can get just to be able to unlock master VoG AGAIN and do GM NFs. The other not great but compromising option is to add mods for orb gen AND let masterwork weapons generate orbs.

  • We asked for, and this is what they do. This is always what they do. The community asks for something simple and rather than just do that and take the win they torture the idea into something no one asked for or gave a -blam!- about. Remember emblems? All we asked for was an on-off switch and they spent who knows how much developer time dicking around making extensive changes and erasing some of the stats entirely. It's like malicious compliance or something.

  • Your making this too complex - just like Bungle. Exotic weapons are "Exotic". They should have the intrinsic property of creating orbs of light from Multikills, whether they have Catalysts or not. Problem solved. No need for some stupid helmet mod, or ghost mod or anything else. The real reason Bungle is doing this is to slow Super recharge to nothing. They want to go back to their Halo Roots and basically make a Halo Shooter where your Super is a COD type Kill streak reward once per activity. It's all about making us weaker so they don't have to make stronger enemies, so they have even less to do.

      • We’re getting elemental kinetic weapons: the darkness elements go there. They can’t let us change elements because they’ve already announced they’re adding more element restricted perks similar to headstone.

            • Simplist fix of them all. Make exotic weapons have intrinsic orbs and tracker so that the catalyst is more about the new perk. Leave everything else the same...no idea why that would be hard to do

We couldn't make any weapon into any elemental damage. Only weapons that already had elemental damage.

                • The Bungie Monkey Paw isn't a community meme for no reason! So much of what we ask for is tainted by some bizarre or annoying or flat out dumb twist, if Bungie actually delivers our requests at all. We spent years asking for transmog and when they finally granted our wish, it was the worst possible implementation. Time gated, grindy as hell and limited to 10 a season. Any changes to this BS new orb system will probably not arrive until Christmas and even then it'll be the tiniest compromise like a reduced energy cost. So our Guardians will be going into Witch Queen and spending most of the year functionally worse than now. Sounds like great fun! /s

                      • You can ask all you want, its still their game lol. If you don’t like it, make your own game. Im not saying I agree with the orb changes but I definitely see where they could’ve done better. The orb regen mods should’ve been on the ghost instead of the helmet. If bungie really wants build craft then they need to tone down the insane cost for equipping certain mods.
