Walking through the streets is Warlock Holmes. Dressed in a jacket and suit that appears to be out of a Arthur Conan Doyle novel accept for the fact that faded symbols of stars and moons can be seen upon his jacket. On top of his head sits a dearstalker hat and around his neck hangs a red ruby pendent with strange arcane markings inscribed on it.
“It appears there is something afoot, my dear Watson.” He speaks to no one upon the a cacophony of sounds and sights, before casting a fly spell to investigate.
Chains in chains
"Well I was Nowhere," she talks as she approaches the door, "Then I was in the city for a bit while some other vampires were attacking, but I got called away, then I was in the woods, then back in No-" She stops before your illusion and her eyes glow with violet light, "Oh you're not real! I must be the madness after all..."
-
Chainception!
“No no good witch. You are not mad, just confused. For I am very real, just not in this place physically. Perhaps there is a way to help everyone trapped here, and to help you.”
-
"Ah, well then, let's see what we're dealing with." She steps out into the courtyard, eyes still alit, and they narrow at the sight of the obelisk. "That things all kinds of magic."
-
I shall follow her outside. Though I do not particularly trust her. I shall cast detect magic myself. “It seems to be something of importantance. Perhaps the cause?” I am going to inspect it for any place to put the shard.
-
The obelisk radiates magic from all schools, and you can see trails of it rising above and spreading out into the mists. You think it's an anchor of somekind. "I think its an anchor of some kind..." the witch says. You also notice a small ship in the side of the obelisk.
-
“I conquer with that statement. It seems to be causing the mist perhaps.” I shall think of what I just found but not speak it for now. Also, I am going to try casting identify upon it, though I am unsure if that will work.
-
As you reach out to touch the obelisk to cast Identify, she holds a hand out and shouts, "I wouldn't!"
-
I shall stop the spell for now, looking at her a little puzzled and concerned. “Everything alright good witch? Do you think I would find something I do not wish to know? Or perhaps something you doth not wish me to know?”
-
"I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure it would drain you of your magical capabilities. And possibly your life." She reaches up and plucks a few threads of magic, the air around humming with ethereal music. "I think this is like a straw, Nowhere is thirsty and we're the-" she stops and plucks a thread again, "Do you see that?" When she plucks that thread, Watson appears for a brief moment before fading away, seemingly unaware of your presence.
-
“That is odd. For a moment I saw Watson, which is strange for I have not seen him this night. He would already be on the streets fighting unless….perhaps this area reflects my own world and he is there. Or perhaps we are in some for of Demi-plane and he is in a similar one. Either way, how did you summon his image?” I am going to cast sending to Watson, if it even works. Sending a brief message. ”Watson. Light a torch if you can hear me. We may be in the same place but parallel each over. Obelisk may anchor multiple Parallel planes.
-
"I was a Bard before I became a Witch," she strums a few more strings before turning to you with a wicked grin, "I've a terrible idea!" And without warning she grabs the thread of magic and a discordant screech fills the air!
-
I shall cover my ears. Not exactly knowing what she is doing, I shall use Phantasmal force to recreate the noise. Maybe boosting whatever she is doing, I am not sure obviously. “Terrible ideas tend to work at time, but do you care to elaborate?”
-
You see her gripping a thread of magic pulsing through all the colors of the rainbow, and then Watson and another of her appears. Along with another Elven vampire you've not met. "Oh hi me!" She shouts to them. And if you don't mind we could merge these events over here now

Edited by Warlock Holmes: 12/25/2021 5:08:24 AM
I shall respond there then. How exactly shall we do this? Watson and I are in the same room IRL, so you really only have to respond to one of us.
-
I figured we could merge into his chain and pinge eachother with likes when someone replies to the situation, or simply roll initiative and take turns! But irl works aswell, this may be wrapping up soon depending on what happens next.

Another chain
Scylla leads the group to the docks and a tavern that seems untouched by the realm. The doors open to a brightly lit restaurant, the smells of foods and sounds of laughter and music fill the air, and the civilians enter while Scylla stays outside.
-
I am going to look inside the tavern to see if anyone interesting and useful waits inside, but I shall not actually step in. “Thank you for helping these people captain and any other people that you have helped. But what do you know about this place, particularly in its ability to bring my realm to this one? Or at least do you know anyone I can talk to who would know something. For, as noble as saving the people is, I doubt this will stop without finding what force lurks behind it all.”
-
The room within is far larger than it appears and is filled with all kinds of interesting people, and at the center within a circular booth sits a tall man with copper skin and golden eyes, draped in fine silks and jewelry, staring back at you with a bright smile. "That place is owned by some kinda Genie," Scylla says, "It's got doors to it everywhere so he can send people back where they belong. I can't go in, but he might be able to help more than I could."
-
“Thank you very much good captain. I wish you well in your endeavors and safety to. Farewell. Oh, and perhaps take this. It could be useful for your journeys.” I say, offering her a potion of ghostwalking (allows you to walk though solid objects for a minute!) in case she may need it while helping the other people. Then I smile back to the man inside while placing the sapphire pendent into my pocket and replacing it with a large silver amulet with a strange symbol of a face. Holmes has a lot of necklaces for some reason.
-
"Thanks," she pauses, considering something, then simply says, "Good luck mate." And begins walking towards the docks. The man inside has returned to his guests around him while you stand within the threshold.
-
I shall walk inside the tavern and waive to them man once more, walking towards him but also looking around to asses my surroundings.
-
The tavern appears more like a modern day nightclub as you enter, and whereas the man was far within before, you turn back to find yourself standing before his circular couch at the center of the room. He sits alone now, and though you can still hear the music it is somehow more quiet here. "Welcome to The Lamp!" He winks, "What do you desire my friend?"
-
“Fascinating name that is. Fascinating place really. Though I do not have the time to wonder, as much as I would like to. Something is causing my world to collide with this one, and I seek information.”
-
"By 'this one' I assume you mean that Nowhere you came from? Well the good news, your world is not colliding with that one! You and the others were merely abducted." He holds up three fingers, then lowers one, "That's your first freebie. Two more and then I'll require compensation."
-
“Ahh, I see the name of the game we are playing now. Though my ignorance of the rules are no excuse, so let’s make these count.” Then I shall proceed to cast Phantasmal Force to create a second version of myself. This one dressed differently, in dark robes and wearing a clockwork crown, onyx mask, and a brilliant purple cloak. In his Phantasmal hands is a small clockwork windup box, kind of like a music box that I don’t have to worry about the complex contraction as it isn’t technically real. But then it is real! For I shall use illusory reality to make the object temporary real, imbuing it with planet energy, and winding up the box itself, which creates a voice. Not mine but Watsons, “You said we where abducted. Where can I find our abductor then?” I have no clue why I would think all of that will work, but perhaps it may not count as myself as I am not the object speaking. Or maybe not, it’s probably that one.
