Hoping someone can help me here, I think I screwed my account up for 90 days.
I must have misinterpreted Bungie's statement, " Destiny characters and data will be tied to the authentication method, and appear on Bungie.net when linked."
I thought that because of this I could remove PSN as the main account my character is tied to and that if I removed it as an authenticated account, my character would remain just tied to my Steam.
I went ahead and did that and it required me to disable cross-save. I thought that would allow me to continue with my character in Steam and be able to forget about it on PS4, this seemed to be the phrasing throughout the process of removing cross-save. I don't recall seeing it stated anywhere that this would remove access to my character, just that cross saving would be disabled.
I really would like to get my character rebound to my Steam account. Am I out of luck? I've been really excited to play this game with a sibling and now it seems I won't be able to.

Hi there. Cross Save is not a permanent transfer of your data; it only lets you access your chosen active account on each linked platform while it's enabled. Unfortunately, transferring your data in the way you were expecting is not possible. The 90-day lockout is a security measure to help prevent fraud and activities that could compromise a player's account(s). There are no exceptions.
If players disable their Cross Save for any reason they will have to wait out the 90-day lockout before they can enable Cross Save again. There are no exceptions to this policy.
https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049498031-Destiny-2-Cross-Save-Guide
