  • Now I'm genuinely curious as to where a goth or even emo and scene kids would get their crap if not from hot topic or spencer's. I mean, I know alternatives for metal heads are places like indie merch store and nightshift merch, but where else does a goth go?

  • -blam!- you have clothes stores aimed at emo and metal? Whoo boy I want some. Here it's all slim fit jeans, overly small beanies and t-shirts. The only one fit for me are raggedy -blam!- plaid shirts in grocery stores and hard work clothing lines.

  • Ah, no. Sorry for the confusion. Indie merch and nightshift merch are online stores. It would be great if they did have physical locations though. Nightshift is based in Florida and does allow people to come pick up their orders if they want, but that's not really the same.

  • Elitist Goths mock "Mall Goths" for shopping at Hot Topic instead of dressing like Victorian Era vampires and -blam!-. Idk, I never really cared about clothes. I mostly inherited all of my stuff from my older sister. We were poor and lived in the middle of a cornfield an hour from everything, so when I went clothes shopping it was just Walmart or Macy's... or Kohls? One of those big brown boxes, I can't tell them apart. My things pretty much been the same since gradeschool, big black boots and a hoodie 3 sizes too large.

  • Ah. Reminds me of "non conformist" punks calling fashion punks try hard conformist despite being kind try hard and ironically conformist themselves. People are funny. We're such odd creatures.

  • Come to think of it, that and the goth thing are more gatekeeping than flexing so all this was kinda irrelevant lol

  • Eh, I'd say they can relate and go hand in hand, so not entirely irrelevant
