Solo players should understand that not everything should be designed with them in mind.

Especially when Bungie has come out saying this is an MMO. Like going into a game like FF14 or World of Warcraft and crying to square or Blizz that they cant solo every dungeon and raid. Its pathetic these people havent been able to figure out after 7 years this is a multiplayer game and they there will be times you are forced to group up with other players.
-
I think that’s sorta tangential to why bungie is moving to sell the dungeons separate, since sorta like raids a lot of people are just cut out from them or are disinclined to do them. The legendary and certainly master lost sectors with locked gear behind them (well…the chance to get the locked gear…) is patently beyond my capabilities and patience to get them, so I’ve just accepted I won’t ever have that stuff. I’m still shocked I got the DMT on my own, twice, and have fouled up every attempt there after.

this is the first dungeon to be added that has matchmaking "disabled" meaning this dungeon has been made with matchmaking so im thinking what is going to happen is in 2 months time they will enable matchmaking but change it so you cant farm on the normal version normal you would have matchmaking but only 3 goes a week master would be no matchmaking and you can farm all you want
-
No dungeon has matchmaking enabled...
-
Go look... This new dungeon is the only one that staits "matchmaking disabled" so the idea is that the switch is off and can be turned on... I'd wish for matchmaking to be normal mode only like how nightfalls work
-
Maybe that’s just a tooltip they put on this one specifically knowing the bringing back of Gjallerhorn would draw a lot of lapsed attention?
-
That's my thinking
-
Now go try to load any other dungeon and see if matchmaking exists.. NO DUNGEONS HAVE MATCHMAKING.
-
That's what I just said... This new one is the only one that has it even mentioned "matchmaking disabled" Sorry if your abit slow
-
It only mentions that because it has a selectable master or legend mode, like any other activity with selectable modes. Go have a look at VoG for example.. Legend and master are never matchmade. Sorry you're way more than a bit slow.

It should be though, I mean really from a business standpoint alone why alienate and discourage so many players from buying into Destiny when simply adding (optional) matchmaking to more content would not effect anyone else.
-
I highly doubt that the 10 or so activities in this game you can’t easily solo is alienating people from purchasing the game. If you want to get into business, who do you think will play and pay more, the average causal player, or the more hardcore player who does every activity?
-
I can get Alot more money out of a casual because they will pay to skip where the hard core player will play the same thing 50x over for no reason other then bragging rights
-
Where in destiny can you pay to skip content? Outside of the season pass which isn’t relevant to the conversation.
-
Edited by Vale: 12/10/2021 5:29:43 AMThe season pass is the perfect example tho... Casuals will buy a season just to buy half the levels on that season vs a hardcore that buys the season and then proceed to level it to level 2000 That same mind set bleeds into the game if bungie released 2 versions on this event 1 being cheaper but you have to complete the dungeon to get gally and 2 being spend $120 and you get gally instantly unlocked what do you think would happen ? You know what would happen... The content being made for the type of player to grind 2000 levels for nothing so now that is bungie expectation for your rewards structure... If you could pay to skip that you would.
-
This. The hardcore player base is the type of population game developers will cater to because it’s the population that will spend money. They’re the kind of people crazy enough to spend $10 in the Eververse store for a cat dance emote or an actual Jotunn toaster.
-
Literally 95% of the game can be done solo. So yes… not everything should be made with them in mind… it’s already beyond easy to find no mic groups to run activities with
-
What point are you even making? 95% of the game can be done solo…so why not 100%? Or “I don’t need match making so it shouldn’t be implemented because I am special and not everyone should get the loot I have”? I don’t need help paying my mortgage, buying food, running my car etc but I don’t object to people who need help receiving it. You’re literally arguing against something that won’t affect you in any way, but would improve a lot of peoples experience in game.
-
Cause it’s a social game… not everything is going to cater to players too lazy to find a group Making certain activities able to be completed solo definitely affect people. Since the activities have to be dumb down now 🤷♂️ But since all these started right as the anniversary pack came out I can easily say… if you can’t solo anything now… it’s cause you don’t want to 🤷♂️
-
How does adding match making “dumb down” an activity? And these posts have existed ever since the first week of D1’s release, I know that because I was posting them.
-
The only activities that don’t have MM are endgame activities. You guys don’t expect them to implement MM without a chance to complete said activity. Some activities require… more… more that you guys are already too lazy to do since ya refuse to mic up or LFG…
-
Does match making not allow the use of a mic? Who ever mentioned not using a mic?
-
I’m giving every general excuse people give for not wanting to group up 😂 Most endgame activities kinda require mics… they require players willing to do bare minimum… something you guys are already refusing to do by refusing to LFG… Just like MM was implemented into trials and now bad players expect to achieve flawless… same will happen…
-
So what if it does? IT WONT AFFECT YOU!
