Please help with my Cross Save issue, selected wrong account

I wanted to try playing on Steam since I have friends on there and a new gaming computer, so I enabled Cross Save, but didn't understand that my characters wouldn't populate over since I didn't have the game even enabled on Steam. I must have selected Steam as the primary though I don't recall a warning or dialogue notifying me. I recently came back to D2 a month ago, so I missed the enormity of this issue two years ago. To complicate, I have 900 silver sitting in my Xbox account, which means I'm locked out for 87 days. I would like my Xbox to be my Cross Saved account. I didn't know what a Recovery was until the last 24 hrs. Please help me out. I don't even know if there's a form anymore to directly address, but I couldn't find it. I will never touch cross save again :-). I'm not asking for deauthorization, which I understand is against Bungie's rules.

  • You are correct, you picked the Steam account to be the cross save account instead of XBox. In terms of warnings there are two or three confirmation screens where it shows which account will be the cross save account and a list of the characters associated with that account. It would be at those confirmation screens where you'd have the opportunity to see you've selected the wrong account.
