Friendly PSA that general anesthesia isn't necessary for getting your wisdom teeth yanked and that you should ask for local anesthesia

Yeah…that’s debatable. I had general and don’t know if I could have done local. I hear you can feel them pulling your teeth (plus’s I didn’t wanna sit there for 2 hours watching them pull my teeth).

There are too many risk associated with general and I've heard and read too many anecdotes of -blam!- going wrong during or after. I stand by what I said. It isn't necessary.
-
Oh I agree that it isn’t necessary. It all comes down to personal preference.
-
Well I'd prefer not to be potentially blind with a speech impediment or other crazy -blam!- that has happened to people rare or not. Fortunately, only one wisdom tooth needed extraction, so I won't have to deal with that again regardless.

Ah, you only had 1 removed. You see, I had all my wisdom teeth removed, plus 2 extra that were growing in all the wrong places (under my tongue). That in turn made my surgery run a little longer than it should of (3 hours I think it was). Yes, there are risks, but that’s only if the doctors don’t know what they are doing.
Yes, there are risks, but that’s only if the doctors don’t know what they are doing.
That is simply factually incorrect my dude. The risk with general aren't only determined by that alone. At any rate, in your case, yeah general was the better option over stick your mouth with a needle in multiple areas. I would have still asked for local though as I'm not willing to play with risks.

Honestly, I didn’t know that it could severely damage you. Glad I got through it ok.
