Dear Bungie, why is there a transgender splash screen in Destiny 2? We understand your corporate core values. Most, if not all corporations, have similar core values. we agree with them and practice them daily. As a heterosexual, I personally don't care what gender, -blam!- , color, whatever anyone identifies with. We, as guardians come to Bungie to play Destiny 2 and to get away from the politics associated with anything , I mean anything. We respect your corporate core values but splashing your core values on the game screen really isn't necessary is it?

You know aside of what everyone else thinks I agree I’ve never seen an appreciation for hard working fathers or mothers what’s up with that
-
It’s all just political point scoring and pointless virtue signaling. Bungie’s a whole company, they have been for over a decade. I don’t overly like it, and I have family in that community. But that main reason I don’t like it is because it’s meaningless. 99% of normal people don’t give a flying F about that as long as an effort is made on both sides. Is it really so hard to just tap A a few times when you load in (just like you would for double infamy week notifications)? I know this is a bit piecemeal, but this whole issue really annoys me sometimes. If you want to see change in a system, change the culture or make something better that represents your ideals. Take solace in the fact that it matters to the few and that it’ll likely do nothing for Bungie in the long run

This AND blm They did the exact same thing for blm
-
Just imagine if they supported a white straight man on the splash screen you know how many news outlets would be talking bad about Bungie
-
If I wanted to get political, I would watch the news. When I play video games, I want to forget that the world exists.

Edited by Kestrel: 12/8/2021 2:34:16 AMRisen. You all speak of trivial matters. What we should debate is the wrongful neglect of Trevor, the runaway murder frame left within the Tower. Trans Rights has little to do with robot rights. Trevor served the Vanguard well for many generations and it is only since the start of Content Vaulting that we forget him. I will forever remember our first meeting. I was a dear in headlights with my only words of that meeting being this:
OH God, what the -blam!- is that!?
We are fools. All of us. Need I speak of those we have lost? That we will only see once every so often? Titan. Mars. Mercury. Io.

I’m surprised this post is still up. Are the quickerlockeruppers on holiday?

Big yikes. Hopefully this gets locked soon.

True 👍

whoosh

The people at Bungie are genuine people who care about these things, but putting this in the game is a lazy attempt at "hey look we like trans people now give us money."
-
Edited by BIRB: 12/7/2021 12:41:34 PMPeople flying the colors that they feel represent them isn’t “political”. If simple colors are enough to interfere with your enjoyment of the game then you have much deeper issues.
-
Saint 14 is laughing a hardy Russian laugh at how pathetic this is. Everyone on here mad about showing support to other people is nuts. Political or not how could you have a single problem with a company and or person giving support to a group of people who have been dumped on since forever. If only all the people who think like that would stop gaming completely and let us have fun again that would rule.
-
are you transphobic or something?
-
What a garbage thing to complain about. Hope this thread gets ninja’d
-
Human rights aren’t political :)

This post should get locked.

Yip, I'm bisexual and I feel like this is more VIRTUE SIGNALING than actual support.
-
Agreed I just want to be able to get into the game, without Bungie’s Activism’s pop ups. Keep that stuff to Twitter

I do object to it being constantly pushed on me from whatever angle corporation’s or people believe that I need to understand their message. I do not give a fork !

Edited by DNF2005: 12/8/2021 12:16:59 AMAh yes principles… lol Why not raise awareness about China’s Disregard for Human Rights ??? Can we get that to flash across the screen ??? Oh wait a sec they are heavily invested with them But, but it goes against their culture!!!! Could it be that they are a business and the goal of any business is to make as much money as possible ???? Please tell me more about their culture Oh wait I forgot it’s probably not considered “International” so no banners for you Waldie replied….. “This reads like something from twitter lmao. Does it feel good being on a high horse where you don't consider how decisions can affect business, and therefore people's jobs? Almost everyone thinks what's happening in China is pretty awful. That doesn't mean that Bungie is going to say screw it and throw away a huge chunk of the profit they make from China. Yay we made our post about China in game! We also just lost 30%+ of our future profits and we need to fire about 50 of our current staff to make up for it. Sorry guys, good luck feeding your families.”

Seriously, I don't care about that screen. I have respect for those people. On principle. But I really wonder about Bungie's "sense of justice". There is so much wrong with this game since Beyond Light, like the DCV, Sunsetting, Silver, and Bungie's obstinacy. Not to speak of that embarrassing anniversary with - once again - digged out mapping and recycled content... that's 30 years. That's a warning and nothing to celebrate.
-
Video games should always focus on story, gameplay and escape. Never political statements. It's like the old saying, "whenever you meet someone new never talk about politics or religion."
-
Exactly. I don’t bring my political or religious opinions to these forums. I expect the same when I’m playing a Video Game. For crying out loud. Especially for a game that I have spent hundreds of dollars on. You want to do your virtual signaling through social media, be my guest. I’ll wholeheartedly support that. Keep it out of a product I paid money for. I’m your customer, not your fan.
-
I agree. Honestly I've had some of clan mates quit over this stuff, and I don't blame them. We're just trying to play a video game, and we're getting politics shoved down our throats.
