No. The Logic’s have two parts. Cosmic rule and philosophy. Sword Logic is a cosmic rule. That’s why Lightbearers can gain strength through killing. Yet the don’t follow the philosophy of the Sword Logic. The Hive do follow the Sword Logic but often us complexity to solve major problems and have gained great power in doing so.

Um…no. Lightbearers grow stronger through combat because they get better at it, and get better are drawing upon and using their light. They literally have lifetimes of experience doing it. The issue with the Light is that it seems to respect and allow Free Will. You are asked to defend Life, but are not forced to do Her bidding like the Taken are forced. The Hive get stronger by destroying other life (and Light) and feeding it to their Worms. We were able to destroy Oryx in the Kingsfall raid by co-opting Hive magic and using the Light He was consuming against Him. It’s why the Hive are organized like a feudal society. Each Hive owes loyalty—-and an infernal tithe of a portion of the energy they collect—-to the being above them in the hierarchy. It’s the only way those at the very top can acquire the massive amounts of energy that they require. It’s why Savathun wants to be free of her worm. She was first to recognize the hook that the Worm God set in the bait of seeming limitless life and power: Their worms will eventually kill them all. They either run into a more powerful enemy that they can’t defeat or kill fast enough… …or they simply run out of things to kill..,, Either way the Worms win, and the Hive did all the work. The Hive made a Deal With The Devil, and took on a parasite masquerading as a symbiotic.

  • We’ve been killing and gaining power from it since base D1. Because, correct me if I’m wrong, we didn’t have “lifetimes” to hone our skill or power before we defeated the two Hive Gods? That others with centuries under their belt weren’t able to kill? Seems like your idea has holes in it. Yes, the Worm Pact kills. We’ve known that since the BoS came out.
