Depending on how it works, if Savathun is capable of dictating the chosen hive or if the trailer is literally just dead hive being revived. My guess is that they will not be able to be Taken since they’ll have been dead but I’ll gladly take a nice surprise!

That is a question for the ages because that is my best bet as to the lightfall expansion on who will contest guardians: Taken light Hive guardians will mean another faction that can use both light and dark...

Yes but how similar will hive guardians be to actual guardians. For that matter we dont even really know if or why guardians cant be taken. We assume the light protects us but nowhere in lore does it definitely say yes or no. Riven is a parracausal being and yet she was taken. Ahemkara, in theory, are much stronger and more powerful than guardians and yet they aren't immune to taking. Even power hive worms can be taken.

Bruh. They are still revived by Ghosts. They are paracausal and cannot be taken.

Techeuns are paracausal too but can be Taken. I think the defining link is if the victim is living or undead.

Techeuns are also the only ones that can be saved from being taken. They have darkness in them already due to their nature and taken power exploits that. We saw that partially with Uldren. Guardians are basically Light Taken. They are inhabited by the light but Bungie have now written themselves a dilemma with Beyond Light: Do we also have darkness in us too now as Elsie says and can that be exploited? Anyway, if true, that applies only to Guardians who linked themselves to the Crux's and embraced Stasis. The Hive Guardians are beings of Light and can't be Taken.

Only the God killers and bone walkers cannot be taken, we may be tough but canonically only a few if us are the real guardians, least imo The rest of us, to different levels of light, are at different states of risk at being consumed by not the taken but the blight and power of the ascendant realm, given we aren't fodder, we maintain tactical importance at least as officers Least imo, you're welcome to disagree lol

Theoretically even god killers could be susceptible. In more recent lore we've learned that the power to take didn't come from the worms but actually comes from an infinitely more powerful and unknown creature, who at present, Xivu is serving. By bone walkers I assume you mean powerful hive, but we have seen very powerful hive be taken. For example, Oryx took himself at the of ttk campaign and the raid version was his taken perfected form. I do agree that resistance probably depends on light level / power level of a creature. Honestly I think the main reason we dont see taken guardians is because hive see guardians as their true enemy who must be destroyed and taking them would mean accepting your mortal enemy into your ranks.

My apologies, the bone walkers are referred to as the slayers of crota and other hive demi gods You are correct however, completely so in fact, high power guardian's would, if pursued, be high value targets for the taken, presuming they could overcome such a force correctly, especially given the guardian is said to be a hero among legends, like, I'm not even joking, this guy/gal has some serious hate on the enemy lol, ngl I think it's the doom slayer heh Anyway, silliness aside, presuming they can still take without without direct, interacting host, many low light individuals would undoubtedly serve as officers, potentially this has occurred in zones that we dont get to play in, well only be able to obtain evidence of this by listening to the D1 bounty bot whilst possessing the "taken king" expansion, I believe, otherwise I've no other sources that speak of different zones to that which we play
