Yes, but you’d be better off taking any other animal. Humans are kinda bad at everything besides Stamina and Intelligence, which kinda get TAKEN (hihi) care of.

Lore has always been confusing in this game. I mean you've been revived from the dead for a long time, all that for nothing but running a giant hamster wheel over and over and going nowhere. I guess it's even more confusing when the game says there's no time to explain why there's no time to explain. It's like the game just revived you and says go now and run the hamster wheel. Going nowhere for 7 years. Nowhere! Become Un-legend. State of the game.

If other alien species can be Taken then Yes.
-
Yes, lightless people can be Taken. Heck, people with the Light in them can be Taken as evidenced by both Uldren and Mara's main Techeuns. The only thing we're not entirely sure of is if Guardians and/or Scorn can be Taken due to their undead status, though it is implied that they cannot or we probably would've seen them by now.
-
A better question is can hive guardians be taken?
-
I would assume so since other than a small spark of light, they are not much different from the billions of others the Oryx took.

The taken appear to be reverted to a primitive, violent state. Similar to the scorn, though entirely possible I feel a non light bearing human would simply be consumed as whatever resource we could provide A light bearer would indubitably be taken and used as an intellectual hub of sorts, an example of a lightbearer that may go taken is the drifter A guardian that goes taken, well, we've got God killers on our side so it'll either mark the end or it won't last long lol All in all, I reckon it'd be entirely possible but dependant on your experiences and intellectual properties Thinking of the cabal legionary they recently took in order to calculate an attack on the edz
