Universal Armor Mod Slot.

What if we could use the left over energy we have after equipping our mods. This is how it would work. For every piece of armor you have masterworked (10). You can use the combined left over energy to socket 1 mod of your choice. This would be a universal mod, meaning it can be a general armor mod, class item armor mod, charged with light mod or other type of mod such as a raid mod. Armor must be masterworked in order to utilize the left over energy. You will not be able to utilize the left over energy from armor that has not been masterworked. Let’s say you have all your pieces of armor masterworked but have 1 remaining energy from each piece of armor. You can use the universal mod slot to socket 1 mod (general, class, light or other) that requires 5 or less energy. To socket a light mod you will need at least 1 piece of masterworked armor with that subtype equipped. For example, if you want to socket a solar mod you would need at least 1 piece of masterworked armor that is solar equipped. You will also be required to socket at least 1 armor mod, 1 class mod or 1 charged with light mod before you can utilize the left over energy from your piece of masterworked armor. The universal mod slot could be placed underneath the class armor slot pushing the raid banner down to page 2. When clicked on it will show you how much energy you have available to use similar to a standard piece of armor along with 1 mod socket that will show you a list of all your acquired mods that you can use if you have enough energy to socket it. ___________________________________________ I’m debating on whether 1 slot is enough or if there should be more slots if you still have extra energy to use. Lets say you have 5 energy to work with. Should you be able to use 2 mods 1 that require 2 and 1 that required 3 energy or 1 mod that requires either 2 or 3 energy?

  • Now there's a bit of innovative thinking Guardian! I'd love to have something like APR as an addition to my arsenal (limited to PvE only though). So what you're saying is that this Universal Mod, whatever it may be, can be added to a chest piece or helmet? This interesting idea opens a whole new world to PvE IMO....hope this gains a little traction! 👍👍👍
