Stricter penalties for abandoning comp PvP please
Since we have cross-play I noticed that PlayStation users in particular just leave pvp matches early without any care. Winning or losing doesn't matter for them. I had people abandoning when we were winning 3 - 1. Now tonight I had to sweat to settle a 1 - 1 during a survival match. At the beginning of the 3rd round someone in our team leaves the match and because of the disadvantage even my only teammate leaves the match. I don't want the penalty so I'm just gonna sit and accept the loss however it's unacceptable that people can leave competitive playlists just like that.
ABANDONING A COMPETITIVE PLAYLIST DESERVES STRICTER PENALTIES

I would still leave a comp match if my team is getting killed the same way over and over again. Its not fair that I have to do everything for people who can't think for them selves.

It's just not worth it sometimes that's why. Why would I want to stick around and get stomped if there's no shot of winning? Idk if it's just because it's comp or if it's an xbox thing, but the sweatiest, most toxic -blam!- players all seem to be on the Xbox side making PvP honestly disgusting to play. Increasing the penalty for quitting won't stop me quitting when I'm against people that are not only way better, but running loadouts which have never not seen sweat all over them... Some of the -blam!- you people do in comp is just... Sick, to the point where some of you deserve to get a console cracked over your heads. So yeah, increase the penalty if you want it won't stop me quitting & those like me. Infact once Battlefield, Elden ring and GT7 are out you don't have to worry about me quitting matches ever again because I won't be on this -blam!- anymore.

3 RepliesWow, I thought i was the only one that noticed that about the PS players! What about the crutching on the vex? Or Shatterdive? I know XB players use it too but i see more diversity with xb players! It could just be me and in no way am i throwing shade at PS players, its simply an observation!

3 RepliesNo. Until online play is fair across the board for everyone, no penalties should exist for anything. We play games to have fun. I won't stay in a game that is lagging all over the place and my shots don't register. Why should I? It's not fair for me. These are factors outside of my control and I shouldn't be penalized for it.

No it's not. It's not about money, it's just a game. If you bad I shouldn't carry you on my shoulders and must have a option to leave match without any consequences. If enemy team lead 3-0, if after 3 rounds my ka/d lower then 1.0, if one of my teammates quit - I should have ability to leave that match without any consequences and stop useless wasting my time. Because TIME is your life, wasting it useless is pointless and stupid.

Playing on PlayStation. Trials in the loser pool but rarely comp. Never left even in cases where others left. Including XBox mates but not blaming them. Sometimes it looks like connection issues. It's however embarrassing when being stacked vs an unbroken/flawless team, fighting on a lost case with another solo, hence 2 vs 3, and on top of losing by a mile in the end you are t-bagged. Anyway. Sometimes I feel like the only adult with slow reaction time among kindergarten with stellar reaction. Yet. They are obviously playing better than me, no doubt. But not leaving. You need to carry me out feetlong. (My fellow players might regret that...)

My clan mate got banned for two months because we got lagged out of a few matches. Pretty harsh if you ask me. Granted his internet is not the best but damn

I agree but since they have the most horrible and outdated servers and people are getting error-coded all the time, I think they should be able to assess whether the game was left actively or not before penalising people for it.

7 RepliesAs long there is peer-to-peer and specific players have connection advantages, players wil keep leaving. Why should someone stay in a match, where players are lagging or seeeing you a second earlier on their screens? Why should players stay in a match, where an auto rifle death feels like a rocket launcher or a sniper headshot? Many people are not stupid, you know?

Disconnected due to connection issues should be punishable? What about real life issues? How about proposing a scorecard that tracks disconnection activity. If the person has more than "x" number of disconnects in a certain time, then yes, I believe a penalty should be incurred. Otherwise you're punishing people that may have legitimate issues.

7 RepliesNo. PS5 player here. The network connections that allow crossplay between Xbox and PS are sketchy. When Bungie first turned it on, MM with Xbox lobbies took FOREVER…and those players were lagging all over the place. I’ve been booted from a number of lobbies..including a Trials match…because if poor connections on Bungie’s end. Until Bungie gets this ironed out, they shouldn’t be punishing anyone. Because if it’s random, it evens out. I won a Trials match yesterday because a guy on the other team got booted… and we just played on. The other team gave it their best effort despite being a man down. They even won a round. We treated them with respect and didn’t try to humiliate them. We won in a businesslike way and moved on.

1 ReplyBetter start with actually banning cheaters and laggers. If you teleport and rubber-band, you must be banned from PvP for a few weeks at the very least. Then people won't have a reason to quit.

4 RepliesThey first need something in place to distinctly register the difference between leaving and getting booted. Considering their is an input command required to leave a destination or activity y the game doesn't know the difference is bungies fault

They will continue to leave no matter how harsh the penalty. They just won't come back at all if it's too harsh and then you have a pop problem. But the people left behind, the ones that do care, are stuck with a loss no matter how you look at it. If they could leave, at least it would be over faster. At least they could move on to the next game.

2 RepliesTurn crossplay off in PVP for next weekend I bet that reduces the number of players quiting. Nothing worse than joining a game only to be shot before you even round a corner or not being able to hit F all because of teleporting players or even worse diving for and thinking your ok hiding behind cover only for mr PS to see you in the open still. I'm not digging at PS players but so far all those WTF how moments have been against PS players who seem to be ahead the cross console lagg favours PS and needs to be fixed or turned off
