Vex Dungeon Idea Pt. 2

Part 3: Afairos, Extraction Mind/Xylar, The Timeless
Once all 3 statues are activated, they will shine purple, orange and blue lasers into the ceiling. The ground will begin to rumble, revealing that players are actually standing on some sort of elevator that begins taking them towards the starry ceiling/sky. Players fase through the ceiling and are teleported again. This time, they emerge in a strange new place called “Space-Time.” The ground is covered in shallow water, the skybox is completely filled with a purple-hewed, starry night sky, and floating incapacitated Guardians are seen hovering in the sky like the Nightmares on the Moon. A giant Vex begins teleporting in. When it does, it is revealed to be the final boss: Xylar, The Timeless. Xylar is the same type of Vex as Panoptes, aka a Hydra with wings, arms and tentacles. Beside Xylar is a Harpy called “Afairos, Extraction Mind.” Afairos extends their wings and begins spinning while facing the sky, dragging the floating Guardians towards them both in Detainment bubbles. A killfeed message reads: “Afairos is extracting Light” Streaks of Arc, Solar and Void Light can be seen flowing from the floating Guardians, becoming interwoven in Afairos’ wings, then being absorbed into Xylar. The fight begins as floating platforms similar to the disappearing ones in the Ilios encounter spawn in. Xylar begins attacking with a variety of Guardian Super abilities. Which one used is randomized. If Xylar happens to use an Arc super, the water on the ground will be electrocuted, causing players to have to jump on the platforms that disappear every 30 seconds. During its attack phase, Xylar has no critical damage spots. Meanwhile, Afairos fights like any other Harpy and has the usual weak spot. However, every now and then Afairos will stop and Detain a random player to extract their Light. What’s different is that the trapped player cannot shoot themselves out or be shot out. During this phase, Afairos becomes invincible but Xylar’s weak spot is revealed in the center of its chest. If players are able to damage Xylar enough in time, the ritual will be broken. If not, the Detained player will die and Xylar’s damage output will increase. Otherwise, cycle back to fighting. Afairos will usually be the first to die due to having less health. Its death will cause Xylar to enter Enraged status, but its critical weak spot in the center of the chest will be permanently revealed. Shoot Xylar until it dies. A loot chest will then spawn. Dungeon over.
Thank you so much for reading! Bumps and comments of any kind are appreciated. Loot and lore will be posted shortly.
