PvP improvements, or I’m not buying Witch Queen.
Consider:
Horrible matchmaking, horrible maps (designed for 8 players max), lack of maps (they removed 10 and added none in BL), special weapons running rampant, no unique rewards in comp, Trials (the supposed pinnacle PvP activity) is an absolute dumpster fire that no sane person would suffer for more than ten minutes, no new maps for almost two years, no new modes for almost two years, no pinnacle weapons, poor inter-class balance, horrific lobby balancing, atrocious lag, janky P2P server architecture, no unique cosmetics, flinch actually helps snipers dome you, no permanent team deathmatch playlist (why is clash a rotator?) … I could go on. This is just what I can think of off the top of my head.
That rEnEwEd FoCuS oN pVp, tho.
But hey, at least they’re now selling novelty toasters for $80. Got their priorities straight, I guess.
Halo Infinite is coming. Splitgate is already amazing, and it’s a game in beta made by a team with only four engineers.
Other than a new subclass (which, like stasis, will probably be wildly overtuned to get people to buy the DLC), as someone who mostly plays PvP, what will spending $50 for Witch Queen get me? It’s not a rhetorical question, I’m really asking.
In spite of its many glaring issues, I love D2 PvP, but I’m tired of Bungie’s empty promises regarding Crucible. Stop TALKING about how important PvP is and fvcking DO SOMETHING.

17 RepliesYou said what everyone is thinking. I used to love playing pvp but am forcing myself to not play in boycott. This is the only way for them to do something about this side of the game. Come play pve with us. GM will challenge you a bit. I know it isn't the same but it will give you something to shoot at while Bungie contemplates doing something.

Hackers will continue to ruin pvp. Especially with hardware based cheats instead of software. Super undetectable by 95% of anti cheats. I just don't pvp after reading about it. And I could care less about destiny pvp. It was nerfing way too many fun things previously anyway. RIP pvp, no control of hackers and catering to carries and streamers (probably the same people tbh) ruined it. And data mining is bleeding pve as well.

I'd say they will add a map or two. Maybe one brand new one and they definitely will grab at least one from D1 because it's less work. Even a couple of pvp maps won't get me to buy though. They need sweeping additions and good QOL changes to entice me. It's been far too long for me too praise yet another tiny effort.

People saying d2 isn’t pvp game are lying to themselves. It’s almost like crucible holds a 1/3 of this game’s population and over 70% of popular content creators are pvp players. Not to mention this game is being held by a thread on twitch by trials.

It's a pvp game where you grind the same pve stuff for better pvp weapons. PVP is forever the pve will get vaulted and move on to diffrent stuff but the PVP is always there. This game is PVP with some PVE grind for weapons. Its actually pretty fun you have to work for weapons instead of just suddenly having a OP weapon from the start. Most games you just either buy the weapons, and earn them through by progressing ranks or in halo standpoint find them on the map... Destiny is PVP game includes some repeateable missions for weapons fun raids where they dont give you a guide you have to figure out how to solve it to progress and get new weapons. --- we used to have advance nightfalls where we had objectives to complete in order to finish the nightfall and we got cool halos but they took that away people must of been struggling so they made it easier by just putting in hard creatures. Game used to have a story line but they vaulted it.

PVP was what I used to enjoy, but like Gambit it needs more maps, rewards, and modes. I only really hop into Iron Banner for bounties, although I have just started playing the Dreaming City stuff for rewards from Petra.

Hopefully I’ll get it on gamepass still. Certainly not buying it. Didn’t buy the last on either. Gamepass and Sony gave me a free copy from the pre order fiasco. Gave me a refund and let me keep Beyond Light somehow 🤷🏼♂️

PvP in this game is trash. Play an actual PvP game if you want a fun PvP experience. I hope Bungie doesn’t waste anymore resources on PvP.
