Cannot Join Fireteam (of a non-friend) thru PSN profile

You used to be able to join someone's fireteam through their PlayStation profile, by putting your cursor over Destiny 2, selecting Destiny 2, and then PSN would give you the option to join their game. Now it only allows you to send a request to watch -_- This makes it very difficult to use LFG on Bungie.net; the send invite function doesn't work, and now we're supposed to make everyone a Friend in order to join their fireteam? Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I've heard this from multiple different players.

  • Hey there, Even though the join system may be inconsistent at times, be sure to verify the person you are attempting to join has their fireteam on public if that doesnt work try: - adding them as a friend on the console you are attempting to join - having them invite you please let me know if that helps!

  • I'm having the same problem here, I'll search the "friends" function and get someone's profile up then see the same "request to watch" option. And it gets boring real quick clearing out each invidual player from my list after adding folks for big team based activites. I've encountered it most when coming across PS5 players as a PS4 user and have yet to find a fix beyond adding folks. If anyone knows of a solution to the problem, I'm all ears.
