The Daito Foundry: The Tragic Tale of Form Over Function

Hello, today I would like to share the thoughts I've had over the years on the Daito foundry weapons - The Jade Rabbit and the Two-Tailed Fox. These guns are two of the best looking and sounding weapons in Destiny history, which are exceedingly underperforming in today's PvE sandbox, and I'd like to share my grievances and propose ways to throw them back into the mix, without making them the go-to weapon for any activity. I'll be talking about The Jade Rabbit to start. The Jade Rabbit may just be the least exotic weapon out there. Back in the day, you could get a bottomless magazine by chaining body shots and hitting a headshot, but the weapon is currently bugged so you can only fire around 20 shots without reloading. The precision damage bonus is negligible, and will never justify aiming for the body rather than the head in its current state. The Vision of Confluence with Rewind Rounds is literally just The Jade Rabbit but better, as it can also get a USEFUL damage perk. As a buff, I’d like to have the weapon work properly and for an eye to be kept out for any future bugs on this weapon, as it has already been broken twice in the past. I’d also like to see the max damage of Fate of All Fools have no cap, as hitting any more than 5 body shots no longer increases the damage. Its catalyst is also complete garbage, all things considered. I mean, it’s an increase to stability on an exotic with ZEN MOMENT, with a bounce intensity stat of ZERO, and a recoil direction of ONE HUNDRED. I seriously cannot think of a less useful catalyst than adding stability to the most stable gun in the game. For an updated catalyst, I'd add a compounding damage bonus to The Fate of All Fools, where each time you activate the bonus precision damage shot, the next bonus damage shot gains an even larger increase to damage, enabling an extremely powerful utility for having flawless accuracy. Nonetheless, The Jade Rabbit is one of my favorite weapons just on the looks and sounds of the weapon. It has insane aim assist, which is why you sometimes see it in crucible but nowhere else. It just seems like a crime to have such an aesthetically pleasing exotic gun be a bad legendary scout in terms of actual perks. The Two-Tailed Fox also needs a rework. Unlike the other weapon from the Daito family, it has at least some place in PvE, but falls short of most other rocket launchers. The tracking is not very impressive, and not worthy of mention as part of the exotic trait. The rockets deal some good damage, but can be outmatched by a lasting impression rocket. The burn is laughable, as anything that the burn could have killed likely died to the rocket to begin with, and it does pretty much nothing against high health targets. The suppression effect is... there? I hardly notice it in PvE, and you’re better off using the tractor cannon if suppression is what you’re after. I’d love to see a big rework to the weapon. To start, the solar rocket should stun unstoppable champions, and the void rocket should stun overloading champions. This would make it a seriously viable tool in nightfalls by giving two anti-champion abilities in a single slot, allowing much more freedom in your primary and secondary slot. To buff the suppression/burn, I’d have the burn spread to enemies near the affected target, similar to the spreads of Necrotic Grip. The suppression should last longer and make the target more vulnerable to a second rocket barrage, putting emphasis on the “Play With Your Prey” idea. Utility and damage out of the way, it could really use some quality of life changes to make the weapon feel better. First, the tracking is severely lacking and inaccurate in mid-short range. Because of the staggered launch of the rockets, they rarely land on-target unless the enemy is very far away, or very large/immobile. With the addition of Truth and Eyes of Tomorrow, the tracking on the Two-Tailed Fox feels like a joke. To combat this, I’d give it a tracking booster as a catalyst. It would allow the weapon to switch firing modes, like the Cerberus. In firing mode 1, the weapon would gain enhanced tracking and direct impact damage on a single target at the cost of velocity and blast radius. In firing mode 2, it would allow you to track 2 targets with the same targeting boxes on Eyes of Tomorrow and Ticcu’s Divination at the cost of impact damage but gain increased velocity and blast radius. These changes would allow the weapon to be versatile and fit a much wider range of scenarios than it can currently. In its present state, it’s outperformed by a good roll on legendary rockets like Royal Entry and Hezen Vengeance. It would still be outmatched by Eyes of Tomorrow for ad clear, and outmatched by Deathbringer for single-target damage, but the anti-champion aspects would allow it to have a place in Master and even Grandmaster content. In their current state, The Jade Rabbit and the Two-Tailed Fox are aesthetically amazing and functionally outclassed by many legendary weapons. In all honestly, I probably wouldn't care the slightest bit about these weapons if they didn't sound and look as good as they do. Until these beautiful weapons are paid even the slightest bit of attention towards a buff or a rework, I will continue to push for a positive change within the Daito foundry weapons, and I sincerely hope that Bungie will one day acknowledge my requests and give these guns the buffs they deserve.

Jade rabbit is the only exotic in the game without a real exotic perk, its literally a regular legendary scout with a cool design. There is absolutely nothing special about jade rabbit which is a shame, I loved jade rabbit on D1. 2 tail fox is also. A really cool weapon but its also as plain as any other rocket in the game, its literally a regular rocket that shoots 2 different elements. So to buff them I would give jade rabbit a new exotic perk that grants the user a massive unflinching boost depending on the amount of headshots landed, up to 3. At 3 stacks, you basically have no flinch no matter what you are hit with. The perk would last for 10 seconds, on top of that, I would grant rampage because I think jade rabbit is designed to hit like a truck but lost that feeling somewhere along the line when it got to D2. It used to kick ass back in D1 but the perk doesn’t really work here on D2 and bungie never bothered to fix it so they might as well give it rampage. As for the catalyst, I think its fine. It turns the scout into a laser which is good when facing players at close to medium range. I would add just add handling boost honestly, I love jade rabbit but I always felt the handling on it felt awfully slow. An extra 30-50 boost in handling for Its catalyst would be nice. As for the twin fox rocket, the void rocket needs to grant the same exact debuff that the artifact for grande launcher has for this season. I normally hate grenade launchers but that mod alone made me love them this season, something that powerful belongs in an exotic and what better exotic than a void shooting exotic? The solar part of the rocket needs to leave solar grenades upon hits. Anyone remember dragons breath on D1? Now fuse them together and you now have a dps monster able to singlehandedly debuff AND deal dot to enemy bosses. That to me sounds badass, the fact they track would only make them more desirable on pve. It could have its niche on pvp too but I don’t really see it being used over wardriff coil. Anyway thats what I would do, let me know what you think of it.

This is where it's very weird, Google how to get1320 marks and you'll find it that it's a good mark to get in the SAT SCORE. ALSO THIS IS TIED TO 1320 SAINT, SAINT IS A TITAN. HOW CAN THIS BE COENCIDENCE?
