Just a survey for devs to see what they should be focused on. Edit: I've been reading almost all the posts to my poll, and really am enjoying the engaging argument. Yes, I realize the forum has a bias towards PvE. Not much I can do about that. It is what it is. What I am pleased to see is the COMMENTS seem to be relatively equal in PvP vs PvE...and that was my hope. Is balance in PvP hurting PvE? Should D2 PvE be a deeper RPG experience? What other games handle this marriage of PvP and PvE well, and how are they able to do that? Is PvP being held back by lack of engaging content? While most will blame one side for the other's demise, the long and short of it is that Destiny 2 is HUGELY popular...and has been all the while with a marriage of both PvP and PvE...even creating a new genre of game that combines then both, with Gambit. What I feel Bungie needs to do is continue engaging all three sections of the game equally. Seasons should simply rotate the focus...so each get a large content drop when it's their turn. As far as balancing the game, they should stop trying so hard. Balancing doesn't mean make EVERYTHING the same. It means making everything have POTENTIAL...if you use the right combination of mods, perks and play styles. I just don't know if Bungie is slowly killing off PvP to get people to engage with their next IP or are they just struggling to get the right people to fix D2. What I do know, however, is the struggle is real!

  • It's a biased poll. Destiny IS a PVE game that has a strong pvp factor, its always going to have the majority agree with only pve because of the way pvp has been treated. There is no pvp quite as satisfying as destiny, sharp gunplay, cool abilities and great loot (sometimes). It just needs dedicated attention by a set team to get more people involved. Plus, pve can get stale faster than pvp in a lot of scenarios, there are only so many times that you can make enemies more difficult or have simple but interesting mechanics before pve mains cry out that there is nothing to do. Borderlands 3 is strictly pve and no matter how many tough enemies they add, or how many mechanics you add, once you do it enough times, it's done. Whereas in pvp the challenge is the other player in a seasonal meta-shifting sandbox, the only issue is maps that are done to death, little loot incentive in a looter-shooter, and broken metas that make gunfights less rewarding to enjoy or challenge than pulling out a shotgun and freezing the opponent. The answer will never be to remove pvp, it can be a fantastic gamemode when there is a big enough reason to care vs the struggle of pvp in a game about space magic. It simply needs fresh ideas and an ammo economy re-balance to shift people away from only using special ammo for a 1 shot kill.
