Per the TWAB "Previously, you would earn this armor by leveling your Season Rank and unlocking new pieces on the Seasonal Track. Moving forward, Seasonal Armor will be earned from Seasonal activities. You'll also be able to guarantee pieces from these sets using Focused Umbral Engrams."
Consistently the highest armor stats outside of really rare exotics came from season pass armor. Now that it's only going to be dropping in the wild get ready for lots of 48 gear that if you like the look of is useless but conveniently you can Transmog it. I see what you did there Bungie.

The fastest way to get high stat armor is in the raids. Even if you are a solo player you can get 2 from Last Wish on each character every week. 61-66 stat rolls are pretty common.
-
Genuinely feel bad for you if you don’t do dungeons or don’t have prime engrams.
-
Here's to the ones that we got Cheers to the wish you were here but you're not 'Cause the drinks bring back all the memories Of everything we've been through Toast to the ones here today Toast to the ones that we lost on the way 'Cause the drinks bring back all the memories And the memories bring back, memories bring back you

Lmao I don't use that low rec low dis trash anyway.
-
Goodbye, high stat armor! 👋🏼
-
If they can give me something else besides handfuls of seasonal armor that I won’t be using? No issue here.
-
Or or just hear me out.. play the game aka the new seasonal activity for new armor. Omg shocker you actually have to play the new game mode not bounty farm your way for good rolls 0.0

every week bungie proves they were the problem not activision. bungie already got us for $80 now they just want more and more. the recent change to the bright engrams will make it impossible to just play the game to get all the stuff. bungie is now the poster child for predatory mtx behavior.

Raids can give good drops but damn they are making good rolls so rare I’m not going to bother grinding anymore. Literally haven’t seen a god roll on a meta weapon in months. Deuces.

The armour had high base stats but terrible distributions. You would be better off with a 55 stat roll armour piece with more focused distributions than the 2 14s and 4 7s you get from season pass stuff

Edited by Spawn: 5/7/2021 1:03:14 AMI'd recommend spending more time in Dungeons/Raids/Iron Banner if you want high stat armor (not saying you personally, OP, just anyone in general) as the actual stat distribution and consistency of it is much better than the season pass armor. I mean, I already have a full inventory full of masterworked high stat gear (64+) from over the last year from Raids, Dungeons, Ordeal Nightfalls and a few world drops. IMO - That's what I like about Armor Synthesis/Transmog because if I want that particular look to stick on my already existing armor, I can do that. I don't have to spend as much time in one specific activity (like a seasonal activity for example) worrying about armor rolls because I might like the look of a particular piece. I can pick it up once, transmog, then move into my preferred activities with the Clan for triumphs/gilding etc. Most of my time in Seasonal activities is spent focusing for weapons, instead of armor. And to be honest, Vault of Glass coming out in S14, that's where the high stat farming will be with other Dungeons/Raids. I can see however, newer players will need to spend more time in pinnacle activities/focusing engrams to get higher stat armor. But maybe that's the intended goal to get them started? I feel like most newer players (or players that have been absent from Destiny in a looooong time) have no idea what "high stat" even means and usually just dismantle that gear from the season pass or use it for infusion anyways. But I think it makes sense that if you want high stat armor, you should spend time in the pinnacle band activities to get that.

Good, go raid if you want high stat gear
-
Bro, some of the stats weren’t even that good
-
If you need a new set of high stat armor every season, you're doing something wrong.
-
I was a bit peeved at first but then I remembered they canceled sunsetting so my armor I have now is perfectly fine going forward. If I find something better I'll switch em out but I'm not too concerned about finding new armor per say.
-
High stat armor comes from end game activities. Not the 1 set towards middle/end of season pass that only ever had 1 high stat that governs that class’s class ability. If you’re best armor is from season pass then you’re clearly not min maxing correctly and are a joke.
-
Oh no, now you actually have to play the game to get good loot, what a tragedy
-
Sunsetting gone, don't care 🥰
-
I think they also removed the armor from season pass so we can´t boost trailing armor pieces
-
Uh...dude? It's still Seasonal Armor. All they changed is the method for getting it. Would an Exotic suddenly be a Legendary if you got it from a Public Event? No. Season Pass armor isn't changing. Just the place you get it, that's all. I swear, you people LOVE to make up narratives in your head and pretend they're what happened.
-
It had garbage rolls a significant portion of the time anyway, including this season and last (except for Titan in season of the Hunt).
-
Well welcome to the party some of us have been here for a while. I haven't seen a single piece of praefectus that was something I'd use. Some of my builds are still relying on Holdfast gear to prop them up, systems in place for armours absolutely suck and theres no sign of it getting any better.
-
This change, mid year is pretty ill considered for those who bought an annual pass... #NotAngryJustDisappointed
-
Most of the stat distributions were pretty poopoo though.
-
I got to be honest, 70% of my high stat gear was capped at 1310, 30% at 1360 despite playing extensively over the past 10 months. If Bungie hadn’t lifted the cap, I would have never played this game again past this season.
