So a couple months ago, I swapped ISPs, and the provided router was configured to use a 10.88.111.0/24 subnet. Since then, when signing into destiny, it was very slow. The title screen would come up, and then I'd click the mouse to start. It would get stuck on "Connecting...." for 10s or so before proceeding forward and finishing the process taking me to the character selection screen. Very annoying. Well, this weekend, I swapped my home network over to a 192.168.1.0/24 subnet since I was having issues with traffic routing on my work laptop and VPN, since my office uses the 10.0.0.0/8 subnet. Once I completed the swap over, Destiny sign-ins went back to being super speedy. So if anyone else is having issues with a slow sign in, check what subnet that you're running your LAN on. Can't really offer any explanation as to why it's slow, but if you can change it, you might find things go faster if you do.
