This is something for older Destiny 2 players, but don't you remember when we were given the choice between trusting the Drifter or trusting the Vanguard. I thought they were supposed to make this into something important, something with impact, but it was never touched upon in the future, like at all. I think right now, bungie is doing an amazing job at storytelling, but I hope they don't forget what we've done in the past. What do you guys think?
-
No they didn't forget, but that happened like 2 years ago so the major story stuff has already passed I believe the last mention of it was last years festival of the lost where, depending on who you sided with, ikora or drifter gave you more candy
-
<Considering what the choices ACTUALLY involved, rather than the falsely-advertised cluster-blam!- most people interpreted it as, whatever consequences happened are long gone. Want to know what happens if you chose the Vanguard? Congratulations, you sided with an extremist who believes the Darkness shouldn't be understood under any circumstance. Sounds good on paper, but terrible in practice. Also, if you played through Beyond Light's campaign, you already broke your stance. Want to know what happens if you chose Drifter? Congratulations, you sided with a paranoid man who happens to be right about a lot of shit despite his overall sketchiness. If you played through Beyond Light's campaign, you have reached the end of the journey this choice took you on.>

Bungie forgot about 90% of the things they put into Destiny But they remember Eververse
-
content is hard.........
-
Drifter used to call my Titan "snitch" because he sided with the Vanguard. Now it's all friendly like. Like he forgot or something.
-
Didn't even bother finishing the quest.
-
The story is told in such a garbage way. TTk set such high standards and I’ve played for the longest time hoping the game would be something like that. It just seems like a console version of a world of Warcraft.
-
Edited by Jai_Ex: 4/20/2021 10:06:57 AMThe story is in shambles. If they were gonna do anything with it, bungie would've already made a story line to go along with it. But this franchise has so many controversies and inconsistencies, that I gave up on it. It was a one time thing an it's most likely not gonna happen again 🤦🏾♂️
-
I’m still called “rat” on my Titan 🤷🏻♂️. That’s about it.
-
I chose the Vanguard but I use the Dredgen moniker. I’m playing all the angles. Speaking of NPC’s, why is Arak Jalaal in the hanger, but Lakshmi-2 and Executor Hideo are gone? It’s kind of backwards, given that Dead Orbit believes that our survival depends on leaving earth, yet he and Dead Orbit are the only ones left.
-
Oh, the “choice.” Yeah it was an illusion.
-
It’s almost as if we haven’t reached that part of the story yet...
-
That's always been a problem in this game. Nothing you do matters.
-
The fact that you said the drifter v vanguard choice is for older d2 players makes me feel super old haha
-
I sided with the Drifter, but only because I believe in having frenemies, as friends, if you catch my drift..ha, plus, Aunur sounds like a real piece of work, but until we meet and interact with her, my suspicious lvl is still at a 99.9%.
-
I personally think it was already done, Drifter has his little umbral decryptor becoming more viable and important for the Vanguard and their Cryptarchs to use/study. Although, if they want to continue the story, it'll definitely have Aunor still trying to get dirt on Drifter for that exile.
-
I thought I missed the relevance because I stopped playing. Bungie sucks at stuff.
-
Considering that Season of the Drifter got sent to the DCV I’d say so.
-
Real talk, that debacle was never Drifter vs the Vanguard, it's confirmed that the Vanguard has given Drifter official permission to run Gambit (that's why he's got his dingy corridor). It was more like Drifter vs Aunor, bc she was constantly on his heels trying to find any excuse to exile him for "crimes against the city". Otherwise, I'm pretty sure they haven't forgotten, just haven't found a good time to reintroduce it into the storyline yet.
-
I just hope they haven't forgotten about this used toothbrush sitting in my inventory.
-
They'll probably pull an ol' exo stranger again. "Wrap up" that story because they felt like they did it perfectly even though the story was nonexistent, then bring it back out of nowhere 6 years story cause they finally figured out they can do something with it
-
sadly, i believe they’ve done away with that narrative. it’s a shame too, because i wanted to see what would happen when siding with drifter. bungie is killing it with the narrative as of late, but it seems that they’re forgetting some of the older narratives which is causing some continuity issues
-
Bungie literally forgot about their game and traded it in for a fomo-based scheme to get people to play based on the fear of missing something rather than the excitement and joy of being a part of something. Sorry, but that is literally what happened to the content we paid so much to rent.
-
Bungie: “I don’t even have time to explain why I don’t have time to explain.”
-
Edited by Double07: 4/19/2021 8:16:54 PMI think they considered it in Season of Arrivals. However, I do not know where or if they play the dialogue at all?

Eh. Lord Saladin forgot he made me an Iron Lord, and gave me a sword. Destiny 2: Servpro Edition - Like it Never Happened
