We still have to account for different class population, so this year the class that comes in third place each day gets a permanent 10% bonus on scoring going forward.
We’ve tested this new scoring system using last year’s data and a few other data sets and it seems to provide a more competitive Guardian Games where we see different classes winning throughout the event. Hunters will likely win early on because of their population advantage but as the bonuses kick in, the competition should tighten up quickly. [/quote]
... So who won in these data set tabulations?
Because 10% is roughly what you gave titans and subtracted from hunters last year which put them over the top of everyone every day reguardless of how hard anyone worked. And you based that reasoning on a season that was HEAVY with hunter activity, by people who were not normaly hunter mains. Activitiy that immediately dropped off day 1 when everyone switched back to their main titans and warlocks, ultimately doubling down on the effect you felt you were counteracting.

is not only a very dubious phrasing , its also very misleading. How do the negative modifiers effect each class? How are each of them effected by aerial damage? Which ones spend more time in air in combat for that to be an actual negative? How are they effected by a lack of radar? Etc.
It 'seems' like there's going to be innevitable issues with how this negatively effects other classes, but maybe not a favorite.
Notably, what are the stats that drive the laurel expectations from Nightfalls, Survival, and Trials?
We have vague information on how all of this is CURRENTLY plays out, so knowing what data sets you're using to calculate the Future of this event would help us understand what math you're trying to use to balance things.
So, WHO WON in your tests?
[b]Treat it like calculus, show your work.

Our Magnificent Emperor Calus, in His Great wisdom, has sent the Shadows to ensure His supreme victory over all other tribes in the Guardian Games. Let His gold statue weep the eyes of those who look upon Him! Let us taste His fine Royal Wine which shall flow through the Tower in splendid torrents! Let us grow fat from strength!

It's hard to predict fully because we can't predict participation, but I don't see how hunters don't win this. The lead they gain the first few days will be exactly the edge they need to win it once everything is balanced out from the catch up mechanic. There is a YouTuber called Dychronic who did a post attempting to break down the math. I can't figure out how to share it but his math looked good, and I agree with him. Hunters will win this.

Edited by Mad EYE Murffy: 4/18/2021 12:53:23 PMI’ve already won, I main all three classes.

Edited by Joshazorr: 4/18/2021 8:51:22 AMThe real winners will be the ones that don't grind these stupid ass bounties just because bungie slapped the word "event" on it. It's just more bounty grind nothing fun about it

#TeamTitans is going to take the gold, handicaps be damned.
-
The real question is why they told us. All the titan mains are gonna play the crap out of hunter at first lmao.
-
They should just divide laurels collected by each class between each class. So for example any laurels collected by Hunters are divided by the amount of Hunters that collected Laurels. This would give a much better average per class. But no, Bungie got to make it confusing so they can decide who wins again without risking the players ruining their plans.
-
I suspect their results show that by using previous and other datasets to get to some ideas of ranges of participation results you get close and various winners over many iterations. But, even if that's the case, with such a massive abundance of Hunter, I don't see this being able to be corrected fairly. (Not that I care about the outcome - I use all 3 classes). I'm surprised they haven't gone by an average result per participant. This would be far closer to fair.

Instead of having class-based teams, guardians should choose teams like we used to choose our factions.
-
Anyone that has one of each class automatically wins...the whole concept is just silly.
-
I can tell you who lost. Everyone who joined in.......

if titan's cant glitch like last year who know
