It's the lockout mechanic more than anything that sets up the mercies.

There were plenty of mercy rule games when they had different matchmaking settings, its poor team balance and the locking mechanic, and outside of freelance its the usual Bungo matchmaking on top of that where you hardly ever match another large fireteam when you are in one yourself. Also, as of now it really does not feel like that the matchmaking is connection based either, there is so much lag and the hit detection is very inconsistent, and most of my lobbies have players from different continents, both in freelance and regular IB. I’ve backed out of more games than i’ve completed this week because i can’t be bothered staying in games where the opponents don’t take damage and i’m killed around corners, stasis is aggravating enough but the lag just makes the game unplayable.

Even when they are not mercy ruled, they are obviously lopsided. Then you are dropped in to a winning team match but you have to eat all the opponents supers until the match is over.

3 RepliesEdited by TD1380: 4/15/2021 7:42:42 PMI still enjoy banner, even as frustrating as it can be. However, the swings are pretty crazy. Case in point: Had a game with a 33 efficiency. Died one time right at the end. (We lost, and yes, I took zones!) One or two games earlier, I matched a team of six that never took a zone. This allowed the game to drag out and allow three of them to rack up 20+ efficiencies and an excruciatingly long time to activate mercy. My kad was a 0.29. (That entire team was highly skilled and playing with coordination) But to have that wide of a swing across only a couple of games just seems a bit wrong to me.

7 RepliesI will reiterate this on every one of these kinds of posts - until such time as Bungie grows a pair and gets dedicated servers, we need CBMM. SBMM [i]cannot[/i] work with the server quality we have now.

Remember last Iron Banner when they said they were starting a new lobby balance well I go over to destiny tracker and it is usually about 80% chance of one of the two teams winning. So much for the new picking players code. They haven't even commented on it. Who knows maybe they haven't even figured out it isn't working correctly. Hey though they are working on the next competitive E sports level game as we speak. Man if that doesn't make you laugh nothing will.

Just straight up make the game cap a zone for these people. There shouldn't be things added to the game that try to make it do the opposite of what its supposed to be doing so maybe even make it a super. A warlock super that caps a zone.
