Masterworking exotic armor

For the amount of materials we need to masterwork exotic armor the return is poop. Masterworking exotic armor should be +4 or +5 for every stat.

  • Alternatively, they could adopt the "adept" weapon way - a large bump to one stat, small bumps to the others. You could pick which stat gets the larger bump then the smaller bumps are distributed automatically....

  • I agree. What gets me is why the hell do we have Affinity enabled on Exotics. Bungie just needs to remove that in my opinion. Make all Exotics universal being able to except any mod.

    • Its about min-maxing stats. The most valuable resources are planet materials and glimmer. Everything else can be farmed easily through nightfalls

    • I'd just make golf balls more available to the average player make them a possible drop from dungeons and give one golf ball for reseting your valor rank in crucible not just the first time in a season (maybe increase Valor rank to 5500 same as glory) and give 3 to 4 for doing so in gambit since the effort is nearly tripled for gambit.

      • Dungeons and trials wins need to reward prisms on completions and trials 7 win and full raid completions need to reward Golfballs

          Give us an extra mod slot with the ability to slot any mod for free (No Energy consumption), when your exotic armour has been fully masterworked.

Would make exotics feel more exotic kinda. Either make it cheaper and keep it +2 in all stats, or keep it the same cost and up the stats +4.

          • Master working exotic armor should make it so that can put any elemental mods into that piece of armor.

            See I feel like yeah plus 5 might be great but I find that it would never help. You would end up in the middle of two tiers but it's still tier 5 even if u have 59. Maybe do something like once it's masterworked have it unlock it's own mod, kinda like a catalyst for exotic armor that ties directly into it's perk. So for example anything based around melee maybe they recharge a portion of like 25% when you kill something with it None of the mods would require energy like the traction mod, and maybe add another mod slot to make it more like a catalyst so it doesn't affect people builds. I thought maybe full recharge the ability but a exotic like ophida aspect where you get two knives would be busted for pve at least

          • I think they should just reduce the cost of Masterworking Exotic armour and let you switch their elemental affinity for free.

          • Someone was talking exotic class armor but... Imagine pinnacle/adept class armor where you can favor certain ability stats. Want more discipline? Change the mod on the class armor and it'll reallocate total character stats to favor discipline.

          • Destiny’s leveling style has shifted me from being a 3 character player to a 1 character player. I give my warlock nearly everything, my Titan the leftovers and the hunter pretty much nothing

            • I liked when stuff leveled up with you as you gained experience and had the option to level up your gear faster with materials. Made the game feel more progressive IMO.

            • I've mw four of the exotics that I mainly use now. With sunsetting gone those materials eventually pile up. Three shards to mw is pretty steep though, it would be nice to see a bonus for mw an exotic. +5 to each stat instead of 2 would be lots of motivation I think and not break anything.

            • Synthoceps is the only exotic I have masterworked for this very reason. Honestly, it hasn't been a big issue for me thus far either. That said, I'd not be against making masterworking exotics easier or increasing the value of doing so.

            • This is a huge problem with Destiny. Build crafting and build implementation in this game are terrible. Builds don't feel very powerful and take forever to get off the ground. Having played Outriders for the past couple of weeks Destiny's builds are a complete joke.

              • Exotic armor won’t get catalysts but there should be more incentive to masterwork it. A bigger boost to stats compared to legendary would justify the three golf balls.
