Xbox 360 Character Did Not Migrate

I had quit playing Destiny back in 2016 and then the power supply to my 360 quit working so I hadn't touched it in years. I recently upgraded to an Xbox One and got my hands on a 360 power supply. I got my old games up and running and started transferring save data to the cloud. Got all my Destiny updates and signed in. Both my level 40 and level 23 Warlocks are available for selection. However, when i log on to Destiny 2, there is no option to select any of my old characters. Is there an additional step that I am missing? Does my inactivity have anything to do with the characters not migrating? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!
