NO MORE FREEZING IN CRUCIBLE (Should freeze be removed)
Freezing in crucible is dumb and unbalanced. Worse is Bungie make you have to TAKE DAMAGE on top of being completely immobilized in a FAST PACED SHOOTER GAME when you try to break out. Breaking out wouldn't be suck an issue...IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO DOUBLE PRESS THE BUTTON TO ESCAPE INSTEAD OF JUST HOLDING THE -blam!-ING THING!
GET RID OF ALL FREEZING MECHANICS IN CRUCIBLE! You can keep the stupid slowing BS but GET RID OF FREEZING. I want to know what micro brain dev thought making people COMPLETELY -blam!-ING HELPLESS in the MIDDLE OF COMBAT was an AOK idea. BETTER YET, each Stasis super has a "you're screwed" mechanic where if you get frozen, THAT'S IT, NO CHANCE TO ESCAPE. EITHER REMOVE THE FREEZE BS OR REMOVE STASIS FROM CRUCIBLE! YOU COULD EVEN MAKE UP SOME LORE BS SAYING THAT SHAXX BANNED USING STASIS IN CRUCIBLE!
Bungie devs have such narrow vision and little foresight that I'm surprised they can see the computer monitors they work on. Go ahead devs, tell me I'm wrong. Go into a random crucible match and TRY to compete against stasis and 120 HCs. Then TELL ME nothing needs to be adjusted. Those nerfs you are giving stasis won't do squat unless you remove freeze from crucible. That is what breaks it all! When I get frozen I just accept death, because the break out time is too long and the double-press is VERY finnicky to do. Why didn't you make it press hold to escape? EVERY OTHER GAME DOES IT LIKE THAT!

1 ReplyI don’t think it’s a good idea to remove Stasis. People paid $$$ to use it. It’s bad enough Bungie are going to vault Forsaken and the Moon which also didn’t come free. The complaints over Stasis in PVP are somewhat justified, but removing something less than a year old that is locked behind a paywall will only amplify the complaining. I would love if Bungie dedicated resources to making Light classes competitive with Stasis. Instead of nerfing Stasis even more than next week or outright removing it, they should release aspects for Light classes that directly counter Stasis abilities.

Its an ice based class so if they absolutely have to have freezing then fine but tone it down to less than 3 seconds or just make it slow the target instead of freezing them a together. CC in games is no fun cause you get stunned or frozen and then you just watch yourself die and you can't do a damn thing about it.

Honestly it should be removed Manley because you'll be getting a good kill streak and then you get frozen but I've been able to kill a lot of stasis users because the nerf but yeah thats all I have to say.

1 ReplyPeople might take this a little more serious if the poll wasn't biased AF. Freezing in super cheese, in no world should five second freeze be a thing. I love how hunter and titans are still enjoying that bullshit but warlocks got nerfed instantly. At a ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM freeze could be two seconds for any class.

5 RepliesIt should stay. I wanted to let you all know how (PvP players and not all mind you) you have been behaving since Destiny. You lot are scoundrels. Children that whine at every turn and complain. Our Developers have nerfed. Robbed us all in general, for your benefit might I add, and sunsetted us to the brink of losing our casuals and those who did not wish to grind every two seasons. Only for the meta to evolve and keep regardless. You've neither strategy nor tactics beyond fast RPM, DPS, and using anything and everything to be first and victorious with little to no skill that YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY to call what you have skill. TO HAVE THE AUDACITY and dare say try to be pretentious to define meta and trash. Such extends to raiders and those that burn through strikes. It is the Armor Lock issue of Reach. Nerfed because of impatience to wait for a five second use to end. Impatience to wait and think. The inability to dodge. Retreat. Think instead of jumping. You are the unstoppable force meeting Stasis, the immovable object. Instead of calling for nerfs. LEARN TO COUNTER. We finally have sunset being sunsetted. A freelance option for trials coming. Balance in the fray- and you dare call for imbalances? I say it is enough sirs, ladies! Learn to be tactical or suffer the balances.

6 RepliesDid you know you can map the button action to break out? Go to [b]Button Layout[/b] under [b]Controller[/b] settings. If you can prevent the other guy from freezing you then you nearly won the engagement. Just practice playing behind cover, learn to anticipate a Stasis 'nade and don't give your opponent an opportunity. Practice the little things and you'll improve your methods against Stasis. Easy to say I know, regardless of if you enjoy PvP best thing to do is to learn to beat it. Otherwise give up and wait for a day that will possibly never come, the removal or restriction of Stasis abilities.

Agree. Absolutely the worst shit ever in Destiny. Best move is to come up with a story mechanic as to why you can't use it anymore. "Turned away from the darkness" or something.

12 RepliesI think it would be interesting if the slow was changed to only reduced mobility, and that freezing would do what slowing currently does. This would allow you to fight back but still allow a stasis user to use a special Stasis shattering ability (cryoclasm or shatterdive) to instantly shatter you. The freeze would still have the 4-ish seconds but you could still fight it out while encased or find cover and break out faster. Think of it like freezing a boss enemy in pve except it doesn’t force shatter damage when they “breakout”.

1 ReplyThe main issue I have with being frozen is once you are you get a prompt to break free which never ever f@@king works, what the f@@k is the point of a prompt when it never f@@king works. Also it should just slow you, not freeze you.

2 RepliesMy personal thoughts are that freezing should work the same on Guardians as it does on PvE bosses. That is, it acts as slow x10 (or I guess slow x100 now), in addition to making you able to be shattered, but it doesn’t [i]literally[/i] freeze you in place. This way you could still fight back if frozen, even if it is still a death sentence.

Everything about Stasis is a gimmick to sell more units of Beyond Light. They make the new shiny supers overpowerful to prey on people's fomo that they need it to compete. Bungie doesn't consider the longer effects and consequences. Never has. It's been like this always.

Nerfing slow penalties should be top priority, or removing them completely would suffice. In a fast pace shooter, slowing someone down is an immediate death sentence for the victim: unable to strafe properly; unable to run away. Add the cherry on top for the negative effects.

the nerfs will absolutely mitigate it somewhat. Hunters cant just freeze anyone whenever they want now. The duskfield is easier to get out of.

Supers freezing is fine, outside of freezing one and done supers. Abilities shouldn't freeze or even slow as much as they do

The other subclasses need something like aspects. I think aspects really changed the game for the better and made things more creative and customizable which is never a bad thing. But light subclasses having been sitting way too long without any substantial improvement to the game that makes them enjoyable to play as much as stasis. PvP will always have problems, but we need more options to tweak abilities so we don’t just have one subclass dominating everything. Variety is always better.
