Improving Destiny (IT'S LONG BECAUSE I CARE)

Hello! Even tho i’m on a new account -as you can see- i have played plenty untill last June with an old one, before well… Loosing it. Anyway i’m here to share my long@ss thoughts about the current state of Destiny and my ideas from my own experiences in this and other games on how to improve it. (English is not my first language, so beware of eventual mistakes and thanks for your patience) I’ve -so far- tried to came up with ways on how to keep the game more engageable, fun and challenging to both PVE (as myself) and PVP players (from friends and youtubers povs). This is a list of 10 points (at the moment) divided in modes and suggetions. 1. First thing first: PVE & PVP should -as basically most of the MMORPG have done in the last 20 years- be separated from each other. The 2 major examples i want to issue are that weapons/armors dropped from either modes will only be used in these modes (more weapons rotation) and second eventual “nerfs” of supers will changed only where the nerf is needed (like is Nova Warp is buffed in PVE will only work in PVE the adjustment). 2. Character: Hunter, Titan, Warlock MUST feel DIFFERENT from each other; running all 3 types on the old account i felt running/moving/playing in general almost not different from each other and so i thought of a “PASSIVE” class bonus for each of them like “Hunters gets +10% super/abilities recharge” / “Titans gets +10% damage taking” / “Warlocks gets +10% increased damage” Also the Titan big/small Barrier and Warlock Healing needs 2 major changes. The first for both is to have instant animation in PVP since a player coming in the wrong time gives you 0 time to recover; for Warlock the Healing/Empowering should have 2 ways of activating: the first being casted under you for 10 second and used by nearby allies, the second being casted on yourself only and lasting 5 second. This might sound silly to some, but for rpg focused playes, we want to change our character here and there as time goes on WHEN WE WANT so the actual “create your character, delete it if you want to change i”" is totally a mess. Instead add the possibilty for us to change our Guardian appereance by spending bright dust (like 1000 each time we want to reset and change or 100 for a single part -hair, tattoes, skin color, etc) and EVEN the sex for 10.000 dust. Space -dust- magic, you know? IT JUST WORKS. Tweaks the attributes into these below (cap stays at 100; masterwork gives +10 and costs 1 exotic ball) - Mobility: improve overall agility (run & jumps) by 3% and Hunter other stats+2 every 10 points - Resilience: improve overall endurance (health & shields) by 3% and Titan other stats+2 every 10 points - Intellect: improve overall abilites (granades, melee, class ability) by 3% and Warlock other stats+2 every 10 points - Willpower: Recharge Super faster by 2% every 10 points - Destiny: improve overall luck (ability to lands higher crits than yellow (red) and avoid damage sometimes) by 1.5% every 10 point Using and improving the Super’s Darkness system -or like D1- to add a way for Supers to pick upgrades and tweaks them anytime you want to create your own Super as you playstyle needs it. Upgrades are unlock upon doing challanges like the actual “Kill X enemies with X Super”; just make it fun and challenging for higher utility/damage upgrades. Titles… They aren’t worth the time invested. As most MMO do (because IT JUST WORKS) is to give a reward for the time spent. Let me use an example, an easy one: “Kill 10.000 Vex and if you equip this Title you’ll deal 10% more damage to Vex” or even PVP related “Capture 1000 Zones in Control and if you equip this Title you’ll capture them 1.5 times faster”. I'LL LITERALLY GRIND THEM ALL! Extra Material. Let us either shard ANY kind of material (selecting how MUCH) we don’t want anymore for Glimmers or/and add a Trasmute system where 100 X Materials becomes 1 X Material. Active/Passive Mods for Ghosts. Example active: stuns enemies; Example passive: boost health regen. 3. Weapons/Armors: I’ve seen friends and even players going mad for having bad rolls or not dropping a gun -mindbender, bad memories- and now even the Sunsetting fiasco. Instead i thought… “Why not let us drop weapons/armors with random stats, BUT, as you use them your weapon/armor level up -from 1 to 10- and each level they get you unlock X random perks, so at level 10 you’ll have all the perks that item has, only with different stats”. Allow people to change EVERY. SINGLE. PIECE of their armors/weapons -exotics too- color and add mono colors shaders; yes, i want to see abominations, that's FUN too. Older Catalysts. Easy fix, relocate them into actual and future activities; -insert JUST DO IT! meme- 4. Game Modes: Introduce new modes engaging for both pve/pvp. On pve-side something alongside "endless" missions like defence/survival in Warframe as "the more i stay, the more i gain" so you challange players to improve themself in pve too to keeps getting better and farm stuff (plus the experience armor/weapon thing i say earlier). On the pvp-side keeps the modes permantely (as a cod game where you get into immediately where you want either being a deathmatch or search and destory) so even more players will get into crucible (myself included, perhaps) 5. Raids: About the raids you should add between a phase and the next one 2 ways to reach it, one for casuals who can't yet do parkour and one for us -who keeps breaking your game with love- and in those put chests that gives rare materials/mods/equips; plus a Heroic mode to gives us an even more REWARDING challange. You know, a 40mins GoS can’t be called a Raid anymore after you get it. 6. Strikes: Tweaks Strikes into 5 perma-difficulties: entry level for all (enemies power under ours by -25), easy (same power as enemies), normal (same power but with champions), hard (enemies +25 power and champions, but double legendary loot amount), master (enemies +50 power and double amount of champions, double exotic loot amount). 7. Gambit: Gambit is a fun mode if done well; got highs and lows, but overall a good mode. Try to develops it even further so we can appreciate and play it more often (but not force players to do it for quests) like add a 6 vs 6 mode where 3 people stays in the pve side and 3 people goes into a pvp arena to challange other 3 people and helps the pve players in same way you can figure it out (so we pve playes can still focus only on pve/viceversa pvp players has a challange against people who likes pvp and so to improve themself) 8. Weekly: Weekly rotation of pinnalce/powerful engrams by planet. Every week a planet gets all the top engrams as for raid/dungeon/npc; so people in pve learn and have a REASON to play all the raids, dungeons and explore/play on every planet and not only 90% of the new one and sometimes here and there. For planets without raid/dungeon, just skip those (Earth -new players only to unlock other planets and get the basics of the game-, Nessus -add a mode there-, Shore -forsaken campaign-) 9. Season Levels: Tweak the season level rewards after 100; by each level you gain a random stronger (higher in stats not in perks which follow my method, both weapon/armor) piece of current seasonal equipment and every 5 keeps the eververse engram. 10. Tower: This is the last point and also the longest. The Tower is a place where we should engage more in being social towards each other as Guardian but as well as people behind the screen. I remember sitting 2 WHOLE HOURS waiting for the Almighty to crush on Earth while chilling with emotes and in-game chat with a s*it tons of players: THAT WAS FUN! And so i really wanted the Tower to be a place to us to meet and do fun things to chill a bit from farming or ranking, to introduce a few tweaks to keep the Tower fresh and a cool place to come not only to take bounties but to build a strong and solid Community. Examples are: - A spot where you can enter a sort of “Gym” to exercise in parkour divided in X levels from easy to hard, so people are guided to improve themself (because i can’t stand anymore -i can’t do parkour- in Destiny; this ain’t CoD) even with a short videoclip where we are shown on how to do the manouver. A leaderboard where we can compete with other players will be fun! - Introduce the “Housing” system to give us a personal (loading into the Tower) space where we can put stuff (couch, plants, action figures and so on), also to invite up to 5 friends/clanmates to let them see your works or just chill there and not using for the 132milion time the emote to sit and wait doing NOTHING. Interactive mini-games would allow the party to pass time, don’t ask me, i’m a single guy writing XD - Add fun activities to do with other fellow Guardian such as the always talked “Sparrow race” lunching it from the Tower and something else even with Ships. Nothing game breaking, just a race :D - Bring back the Factions. Let people race every single day in a monthly competition about quests, activities, rewards as well by class (divided into pve and pvp). - Always inside you "apartment" add a "shooting range" arena where you can spawn enemies in levels and types (champions) to practice your builds without interferences. / If you got till here, thank you! I couldn’t think of anything more on the moment (both because i thought/wrote on this same Monday morning and also because i have other stuff to do irl); i’ll add later on if i get more ideas on my own!
