PVP — You have the best shooting mechanics of any video game but you prioritize abilities over gunplay in PVP.

I don't think this game has good gunplay which is why I don't play pvp. Hell I don't play pve that much either. Call it latency issues or the fact it's 30fps on console but destiny has had bullet registration issues since it's predecessor. Battlefield 3 imo had the best gunplay and that was on ps3. I'm not a fps pro but I can honestly say bf3 i actually saw myself actually getting better. In destiny there's so much rng in gun fights it's hard to adapt which is why I hit a glass ceiling. So imo abilities are the game's saving grace.

About what I would expect from the creaters of halo, the perfectionists of modern fps genre on console) and I agree that ability spam is very high right now, I dont think that this game would make it without it. The abilities is what separates destiny from all other shooters. I wouldnt mind it being toned down a bit. We definitely need a better balance, but it can't be too much. Let d2 y1 be an example. Abilities being that scarce does not work for this game at all

5 RepliesHow many melee and grenade kills do most players average per match? 1 or 2 maybe? You have to go all in on a melee or grenade build to really get more than a handful in a match. I don't really think that's a problem. And any change in cool down for more gunplay is going to affect pve a lot more.

I've looked up most of the people that disregard the gunplay and defend super strong abilities. They're almost all trash at this game. Business as usual.

I don't think they're saying that there should be no abilities... rather they shouldn't be the primary way of fighting. Not saying I agree with what they're saying because I think the game does lean towards gun play first and abilities a very close second. Stasis is arguable though. What I would like to see is Gun Play being the most crucial part of winning fights and abilities being strong for evasion and swaying fights in your favor, but not cheap OHK stuff.

12 RepliesBecause a Destiny without those abilities is a third-rate Halo clone.... and Bungie left Microsoft 10 years ago because they didn’t want to keep making Halo sequels. Also Vanilla Destiny 2 was Bungie’s effort to make the kind of game you are asking for. It was a disaster, because the vast majority of the player base hated it. Especially the pve side of the player base.

Don't forget: - Bad team balancing. - Bad connections. - Long MM times/can't even find enough people for 6v6 half the times. - Most maps are shotgun heaven. - Bad respawns (Spawning next to the enemy team) There is probably more, but I can't remember it at the moment.

I think it would be great if they created a special barebones game mode where, gunplay was the focus and you had to pick orbs that spawn around the map to use your abilities. And also supers are disabled

I'm so burned out by stasis in pvp. It's just not fun. The game has so much potential but they continuously ruin it with obviously broken abilities again and again and again. The only way they will learn to care is if we speak with our wallets. If we want change for pvp, money is the only thing that they will listen to.

2 RepliesLol best shooting mechanics!?!?!?! This game is like a C+ maybe a B- when it comes to its shooting mechanics and gameplay. Reddead2, division, mass effect, overwatch, war frame, titanfall, CoD, apex legends (to name a few) all have better feeling shooting mechanics and over all game play. There is only 1 category where this game excels at and that’s graphics.

They have the best cheating community, a few in every lobby, that's for sure. It's an achievwment on its own.
