Shaxx had a wish granted by Ahamkara (lore?)
How else do we have more than half the current crucible maps on destinations that should no longer exist?
Shoutyboi has that Ahamkara skull hung up and everything, and Eris/Drifter have dialogue about him being hostile towards removing it. Maybe, if he's not corrupted by Darkness in some way, keeping it safe/undisturbed was part of his conditions for getting his wish to preserve the crucible maps.

3 RepliesIt’s already canon that the Crucible maps that should be gone are simulations, made by the Vex tech that we helped Brother Vance make in the quest to get Traveler’s Chosen exotic. Saint-14 confirms it.
