Destiny 2 (Sunsetting System) is [Busted]

My thoughts for Bungie and the director name called Luke Smith. Pinnacle or Ritual weapons need (sunsetting system) on those weapons cause of the word of overpowered weapons or power creep, but sunsetting a random roll legendary gears and weapons is beyond ridiculous the time investment that you farmed the god roll gears and weapons for hours, days and months or year is not well respected. If you are going to tell me that sunsetting is a great system on a legendary random roll gears and weapons well that's ridiculous and pathetic on bungie's part. You wanna know why I don't appreciate the current sunsetting system on destiny 2. (A) [1st] I have a life, [2nd] Time for my family and [3rd] a job. (B) I don't like to farm over and over again and wasting my time to farm the same weapon archetype that I have and it has a god roll perks on it. (C) It felt Bungie is trying or forcing the players to participate every single season to not get (FOMO) or called Feeling of Missing out. (D) For example, what if you finally get the god-roll weapon that you really like or love so much but the season has 10 days left remaining and then the god-roll weapon that you farm hours, days, months or years will be obsolete to the end-game activities. (E) Destiny 2 is not friendly to casual players or new/returning players. [Destiny 2] Not Recommended for casual players or new/returning players. If you're going tell me "shut up and quit the game" well, you are just fam-boy of Bungie. I paid the game and all DLC expansions and by the way I have my freedom of speech. What I just said to my statement is not harmful at all I'm just spitting facts. [If you're going to censored me or suppress my freedom of speech you are part of the communist party]

  • Destiny 2: Beyond Light (Core/Seasonal Activities) [Solo and Boring] (A) By sunsetting this cooperative activities (Core)Black Armory Forge [1-3 players activitie with matchmaking: on], (Core)Menagerie [1-6 players activitie with matchmaking: on], (Seasonal)Vex Offensive [1-6 players activitie with matchmaking: on] and the (Seasonal)Sundial [1-6 players activitie with matchmaking: on] and those activities are fun because I am playing with my family-members, friends and random players and now those activities are gone. (B) It got replace by Beyond Light cooperative activities (Core)Legend/Master Lost Sector (1-3 players none matchmaking) (If Solo) Exotic Gear will drop, RNG rate is (Rare), (Core)Prophecy Dungeon (1-3 players none matchmaking, (Core)Empire Hunt (1-3 [Adept and Hero matchmaking: on] and [Legend and Master matchmaking: off]), (Core)Simulation:Survival, Agility and Safeguard (1-3 players none matchmaking)and the (Seasonal) Wrathborn Hunt (1-3 players none matchmaking). (C) Yes, I know it's ''easy'' to farm on Beyond Light cooperative activities but it's boring (don't deny it) and the majority of those activities are none matchmaking, and I cannot play with random players and make friends with them and yes, I can play with my family-members and friends but sometimes they are busy so now, I don't have other choices but to play with random players but I cannot because there is no matchmaking on those cooperative activities (Legend/Master Lost Sector, Prophecy Dungeon, Simulation:Exo Challenge and the Wrathborn Hunt) like I said It's "easy" to farm on those activities but those activities are boring, always solo farming and this game is MMO meaning massively multiplayer online (right?) but those activities can be done solo and it's absolutely boring 100% not fun, and don't forget about the [Seraph Tower Public Event] that cooperative activity is not fun too. (D) Black Armory Forge, Menagerie, Vex Offensive and the Sundial are not solo and also not very easy but those cooperative activities are fun because I can play with family-members, friends and random players, by sunsetting those cooperative activities Destiny 2 becomes a solo farming simulator. Yes, I exclude the Vanguard Strike or Nightfall: Ordeal and The Raid activities. Why did I exclude the Raid activities because not all us will enjoy it and not all of us has many friends to play with, and the Raid activities has no matchmaking.

I played this 8 hours every day ,now maybe 10 hours a week , and at the point of just unistalling it now.

  • I actually agree with most of your post. I advocated for sunsetting weapons but it has been implemented terribly. We don’t get enough new loot or enough unique loot. On top of this, it’s ruined my desire to actually go for weapons now due to the time investment vs knowing they’ll go away. Armour I don’t understand at all.

    • Imagine having access to all raids that dropped relevant gear. All activities and missions in game dropped current light! That would be so much content to choose from. You could grind out anything. Imagine getting a weapon in different elements instead of a determined element. That alone would open up so much content !

    • This game has never been much of a looter especially when compared to other looters on the market. Idk if you've noticed but games like Diablo, borderlands and even the division advertise a wide selection of loot and have loot as a main focus in their promotional material. Destiny doesn't and has never done that.

      • Let me put it like this. The OP 8 Lydia from 3 years ago can’t be used in current OP 8 or 10 in BL2. The grandfather loot shooter has had sunsetting for a while and caused no issues. Could removal of infusion(slot leveling) and other changes better the system of course. But this is something that’s been needed for a while. If you somehow hate the BL system then looters aren’t for you. BL3 works the same way, updates in Division were the same with gear score, and division 2 most likely the same.

      • All looter-shooters sunset gear. They do it by having the game drop loot with a FIXED item level....and then its power slowly wanes as you continue to level up. So it gets weaker as you get stronger...that is it's power slowly "sunsets" and you stop using it and find something better. Then when there is a major content drop....the level cap is raised....and players have to leave behind their current load outs and chase the new stuff added to the game. The problem isn't that Bungie is sunsetting. The problem is that Bungie sold you a LIE that they could make a good loot game WITHOUT having to sunset. So you now are walking around with an expectation that this kind of game can't meet.....because it never COULD meet it. Bungie just HID that from you for years....until they painted themselves into such a tight corner that they can't hide it anymore. The problem is that players like yourself simply need to let go of that expectation. Be mad. Be frustrated with Bungie because they deserve it. But this game simply cannot go on letting people drag HUNDREDS of guns behind them wherever they go. NO loot game can allow that.

        • Its a FPS looter shooter mixed with a MMO (its not a true MMO but it follows the same idea) and it falls under RPG because pretty much any game can fall under that if your role playing which you are as a guardian. I dont like bungie either but those are genres you cam find the game under

          • I still enjoy the game but am getting more and more sad with the changes. A friend asked me “you play Destiny 2 a lot, should I get into it” and my answer was a firm no. I love the gameplay, the lore, helping people and the community I am part of. But the changes give me less incentive to play. A ticking clock on my gear makes me less excited, not more. Less weapon variety makes me less enjoy the game, not more. Sunsetting removed whole archetypes and energy types. I want this game to be great but it is currently meh.

          • It's an MMO and has all the mechanics of an MMO. It also has rpg, looter shooter, and FPS mechanics. People can whine all they want to, but Borderlands 3 is a looter shooter and "not an MMO". D2 is nothing like that.

            • You know what baffles the shit outta me? It's been 6 damn years and people still call this game a Looter Shooter............... This confusion of what Destiny is, is not Bungie fault. They were upfront from the get go. No identity, no genre. Wide open, no rules. But thanks to "content creators" and bloggers ...people think they have a say so and decide what the game is. The game has never been a Looter Shooter and not a single person at Bungie had ever said it to be one. The original philosophy was an MMO type of game....but not like the rest.

              • Calling Destiny an RPG at all is a stretch. Because that implies the most fundamental things about them: Playing a role, choices, and consequences. What role do you, the player, have? Protector? Adventurer? Warrior? You are none of those. All you are is a viewer and the clean-up crew. You go in, watch all of the "plot" happen around, then make everything alien suffocate on their teeth. You have no stake or reason for being anywhere besides having paid for the DLC. Every DLC is like this, but Beyond Light and Shadowkeep are the most egregious example of this. What about choice? What choices do you have? Only the most shallow, RPG-like gear systems that boils down to "Halo with numbers." Worse yet, that now because of sunsetting, you don't really have a choice. No plot choices. No factions. No NPC conversations. Nothing of what makes RPG's engaging or replayable. The only time we got the illusion of a choice was in Joker's Wild, and even that was just following the same questline. Thanks to world's first raid clears being canon and the DCV, there's no consequences for your actions. You can do every raid and every triumph, or you sit around in the Crucible for two years, or you can just start playing the game today, and what would be the difference? A couple voice lines being slightly different? And remember that questline I talked about earlier? What's the consequence of picking Aunor instead of Drifter? You occasionally get called a snitch.

                • As someone who was a fan of this game I would like to tell you something, Destiny in its day was a great raft for me in one of the worst moments of my life, it had some great moments doing Crota's raid, the glass chamber even when I entered For the first time in the fury of the machines, there were so many good weapons, we had incredible places, the battleship felt intimidating, the cosmodrome had several senses to visit ...... right now all that is becoming a great memory, I know we have paid a lot of money, I know it is very hard to leave Destiny behind, but we have to look forward with all those good memories, this game is unfortunately slowly burning out like a candle. There are people who cling to the idea that this is going to change, that this is going to improve in every way and it will be what we want, unfortunately this is like going from being a child to being an adult, you cannot avoid reality and Bungie knows that this game is already ending, we have to look ahead and see that very good things are coming this year in terms of games, Destiny just have to let it go.
