Raids are endgame content. They require coordination, communication, and team effort. In my opinion, each chest should drop an Enhancement Prism, and the final chest should drop an Ascendant Shard. Raids aren't even as farmable as Nightfalls, so I don't understand why they don't include raids as a path to these materials.
But that's just my opinion.

core content can drop them now with ghost perks. Double drops from nightfalls. Don't know if it's needed. Seems like Bungie gave us more options already.

I remember OG VoG where you could get upgrade materials [i]instead[/i] of loot. A buddy of mine didnt get a single gun or piece of armour on his first 3 clears... 😬

I think endgame activities should have a chance to drop upgrade materials, but giving an Ascendant Shard for each raid completion is pretty generous, even if it is not farmable.

There's no good reason we shouldn't be able to earn endgame materials from a variety of content, not just grinding one hamster wheel. Raids, PvP ranks, dungeons, and various other content should reward materials alongside Nightfalls and lost sectors. It feels like Bungie aims to make content like Nightfalls relevant by forcing players to grind it in addition to everything else we may want to do. But to me, I'll just keep my armor at 7 because I don't enjoy playing the game in that way.

Random drop chance from all chests would be a better idea and the chance increases per chest opened! This would deter the boss farm grind and promote doing the full raid if materials where needed. Would also feel more rewarding to do the full raid. Good idea all the same if reasonably done!

Upgrade materials should drop from any activity classified as endgame or events. Meaning: -raids -Nightfalls -hitting 5500 in comp -iron banner -legend+ lost sectors -trials(at 3,5,7, and flawless) They’re just materials to progress all weapons and armor in this game. Players should be able to farm them by doing whatever endgame stuff they wish.

The reason is to give the nightfall ordeal playlist a reason to be played. Bungie is scrapping tooth and nail to try to extend playtime, and while raids CAN potentially take a long time, it’s not always the case if you get the right type of people. Bungie’s stinginess with upgrade materials is purely to extend grind. While raids are typically difficult, bungie wants only the hardest content in the game to drop it (and this is also the reason the drops are NOT guaranteed on a nightfall completion. Extend your grind further and to force you to play continuously. Bungie more then likely dreads the fact that they were forced to add double nightfall weeks as this alone greatly cuts the grind, but the results were overwhelmingly clear when the original glitch came out that it alone attracts people to play it more).

"raids aren't as farmable as nightfalls" Gonna have to big disagree with you there. I've done 7-10 scourges and 10 or so last wishes in a night before. There are a ton of people who do it almost weekly. I would be cool with once per week per character per raid (total of 9 per week rn) tho, just to give people a good reason to run raids.

Hellz to the yeah! Raids need more beneficial loot. Even enhancement cores would be nice.

Bungie should do this cause it will benefit them via more players on to do raids opposed to right now where Last Wish and GoS has no point once u got all the weapons.

If its addition to what loot we get or if we beat last boss and we get like 5 cores of 1 or 2 enhancements, whichever. Then yes, but than again I promise you there will be a bug where itll never drop loot and only mats and bungie will come out and say, due to a bug we encounters there will be no loot for 2weeks till we find a fix till then enjoy all the mats you guys wanted lol

They already drop spoils now though I feel that would devalue the nightfall which is significantly more challenging
