Hit 1250 before reset. First pinnacle 1252. Second pinnacle in the same slot 1251
I couldn't care less what the explanation is here, it is blatantly confusing. One pinnacle better than the other. The game does not say whether a one pinnacle reward is of a higher tier than another.
I don't know or understand why I should continue to level. You're incentivizing me to ignore the pinnacle grind. It's better for me to be a bounty goblin, but I'm not going to bother doing that cause it's boring as hell.
Bungie seems afraid of rewarding players for their time. Pinnacle power isn't even much of reward. It's just to say you did it.
Make a better leveling system, please. The artifact is not hiding the reality of the RNG drop system.

I have played allmost every day since new light expansion launched.My character is at 1245 now. I try every day to find a reason and will to play any activity anymore. I dont have the same joy now as I had 5 seasons ago. Just to open the map and look at what activity that can give me some form of gear or weapon to level up is a struggle because I waste my time just to do those activities just get a replica. The power leveling is made only for those who play this game 6 to 9 hours per day and the youtubers that play to make content. That is wrong, the average player is on allmost 3 hours max per day. Bring back the old powerleveling system. Then the average player can actualy be on the same powerlevel as the grinders in for example Iron Banner or trials.

All for them to give you that pinnacle power for free next season when they up the power and once again you have to go back to power grinding to be able to play the new content

1 ReplyFor future reference (since the game doesn't tell you) Strike playlist, Gambit, Crucible, Clan XP are all +1 pinnacles 100k nightfall, crows milestone, DSC, and I'm pretty sure the Exo challenge and Master Empire hunts are +2 (not 100% on Exo challenge and empire hunt, can't remember) I'm pretty sure that's everything but might be forgetting something

1 ReplyYeah I hit that wall this week too. This is how look at it. By the time the season ends I'll either be at the cap or not. And the following season I get there just as quick. Normally the grind doesn't bother me but this time around it does. I think cause it's just old and I'm tired of it I also think the process to unlock quest needs to be fun mission and not a bounty-fest. then you have counter productive quests happening in strikes, crucible, gambit. Those who are trying to get their lure updated so they run as fast as they can to the end and those who want to kill everything to update their stasis. Just makes a mess of things. And then it finally hit me that sunsetting weapons only ruined the game cause there's not enough new weapons replacing them. A vendor refresh would've helped this greatly. This game would be very playable is there wasn't a light level, but you had to defeat certain bosses or missions to unlock the next thing. Find ten widgets in the destiny world to get that -BUT have actual in game clues to help you find it. Not use an alternate source not in game to decode what your asking me to do. they almost have it but still miss the mark.

I have found that the only way to not get frustrated with the pinnacle grind is to raid. In the last two weeks I have only done the +2 pinnacles and I'll hit 1260 on my warlock this weekend. With Iron banner and prophecy next week, it will be even easier.

I just have stopped caring ab the power grind honestly. There’s no point. I can do the raid and master nf. I don’t even want to do the raid that often so it matters even less. If you’re a pvp player just being 1250+ puts you in the place you wanna be

Fated engram gave a poorly rolled Aeon arms. Of 5 random exotic drops I’ve gotten since beyond light, 3 are the Aeon arms, and 1 is Khepris sting. The fifth was Lucky pants. Oof.

For me I think if a pinnacle drops. It should always be minimum plus 1 to what ever it drops for. Like if my arms are 1260, and it gives arms, it should be 1261, even if the next thing I dropped was arms again, it should be 1262. That amount of times I have ran things and they reward me with items minus 1 than what my gear is/ or exactly the same. It’s silly. I don’t mind grinding content for the drops but the drops should always always benefit us one point higher in the slot it drops for.

The leveling system is deeply flawed because they've balanced it around running [i]everything [/i]because that's how the most hardcore play. It makes individual activities meaningless and the only way to meaningfully progress is through brute force attrition to conquer RNG

The basically free pinnicles amount to just plus 1s the others that you gotta try a lil harder get you the plus 2s

Some are +2. Some are +1. Been this way for a while. Have had the same item deop several times in a row. Rng is a heartless B.

4 RepliesI believe the gambit, strike and crucible pinnacle drop at only +1 of your current level. Everything else drops at +2/+3. Good luck. Pinnacle grind can be pretty dumb sometimes.

10 RepliesThere are different types of pinacles. Raid is +3. Strikes and crucible and such is +1. Master hunt or 100K nightfall is +2.

2 RepliesI feel you man. That's why I don't care to much about getting to 1260. I just found out (crucible, strike and gambit) are dropping +1. Activities like (Europa challenge, raid, 100k and hunts) drop a +2. They should've told ppl this, but instead, we had to figure it out.

I’m not too worried about getting to 1260. I’m already 1265 with the artifact, and the light level drop at the beginning of the next season due to the loss of the artifact bonus will annoy me to no end. I’ll equip my pinnacles if it makes sense to do so, but I won’t waste upgrade modules in using them for infusion. I’ll use them for infusion if it only costs glimmer.

4 RepliesYeah, my first pinnicle drop was a 1251, and that was AFTER I already hit 1250. Even though pinnicles are always supposed to be +2 higher than your current base. Ya just love to see it.

How things are set up to hold players back is deliberate that there are way too many limitations and resetting everyone every three moments is a pure waste of the player base time. This company has spent way too much time looking for what doesn't work for the game versus what does to show numbers. D2 leveling system is a disaster, especially adding the masterwork.
