Drops in game consistently terrible across all activities

This is a complaint not about my own, but my girlfriend's, drops in-game. After a year of playing, a consistent pattern has emerged where her RNG is consistently poor across every activity, where at this point the probability of her drops being always so bad must be incredibly low. I say this after having done a second run of DSC (first of the week, first character) where 5/6 of her drops were armour she had already obtained, at a lower roll (under 60) than she already had. Another issue is pinnacle drops, which very consistently drop in the same slots at the same level so the pinnacle grind becomes even worse than usual. Additionally, usable-stat armour normally does not drop, for example, it took her 10 attempts to get a decent (over 60) roll of Mask of Bakris. Armour drops consistently have high resilience and low mobility, which is nearly useless for a hunter main. Nightfalls are another example, where enhancement prisms and ascendant shards drop at a far lower rate for her than me or my friends. Her drops aren't a sufficient reward for her effort or performance in the game, and at this point her bad drops have been so consistently poor compared to mine and our friends' that it seems like her account is bugged. RNG systems imply that over the long-run, there should be a mix of good and bad drops distributed approximately the same as everyone else, but in this situation that does not seem to be the case. If this somehow isn't a bug constantly giving no or poor rewards, then I think there should be bad luck protection systems implemented as well as better rewards for better performance. Slot protection for pinnacle drops should be a thing, as well as for raid armour (like the escalation protocol system where you get a piece of armour you have not yet obtained). High-level drops should also be connected to better performance in activities in some way, and there should be at least baseline guaranteed rewards as difficulty increase in activities, such as masterwork materials in nightfalls. These, among other improvements, would make for a better, fairer, more enjoyable game, so that no one will have their experience of the game ruined as they see everyone else obtaining better loot than them, despite less effort or worse performance.

 • Rng is rng. Yes if you 2 are getting decent drops and she’s getting poor drops literally every week for a year, that would be an issue. However, you’re likely ignoring any beneficial things she receives while counting all negative drops. The reality is likely that it’s just being random. Rng isn’t “spreading good drops and bad drops similarly to everyone” no it’s literally what the name implies. Random. Pure luck of the draw. You have people who get raid exotics on the first run, and some who don’t get it after 100+ clears This week I got a grand total of 8 powerful/pinnacle chest pieces. However, last week I only had 3 primaries drop for my most repeated slot. Next week it’s possible I’ll get 9 helmets or 30 guns, or a perfect set of drops to help me hit 1260. but it’s all rng in the end. Armor 60 and over is a rarity outside of end game content (not pinnacle activities but End game content such as raids or trials) that’s been the system for a while now. Your best option is to use the wrathborn hunts to farm out armor stats you would want. It’s also worth noting that stats are useful on any class. It might not decrease her dodge charge rate, but having a high resilience (or better yet recovery) is preferable to having a bunch of stats around tiers 4-6. It’s also worth noting around even as lose as 55 can be useful if the stats are in the right slots. If you’re at 80\100 recovery and a 55 helm drops with +20 recovery compared to your last helm, put that on immediately. 100% more worth. As for the exotic farm, it took me 5-6 hours of farming to get a good roll on necrotic grip. I also got a got rolled mask of B first run. That’s just rng dude. However if nightfall farming isn’t working, just run pit of heresy. The final drop is masterworked and can be dismantled for 6 cores and 6 prisms per character. Meaning the PoH is a far better source of mats, at least until you’ve ran it 3x for the week.
