Armor sunsetting should not be a thing. Period.

I'm very much ambivalent about weapon sunsetting. It has been forcing me to use new weapons and it's not been as bad as I thought (apart from the now serious lack of certain weapon types in the loot pool), but armor is purely stats and aesthetic. Why would something that requires so much effort and material to upgrade with such minor effects on gameplay be sunset? I mean if you're going to take away the armor I spent hours getting and tons of materials upgrading, why should I ever bother with the masterwork system at all? I see 2 options here really. 1) do not sunset any armor at all (the easiest solution) 2) do sunset armor but give full material refunds on dismantled armor and increase drop rate for high stat armor. I understand the sunsetting of weapons. I am not against it or for it yet, but sunsetting armor is just wrong and seems like a very thinly veiled attempt to manipulate game time by forcing players to grind out (or more likely give up on getting) good new armor every year or whatever.
