I've gotten into a habit (or maybe I'm just recently becoming aware of the habit) of constantly pursing my lips whenever I'm thinking, concentrating or while doing random stuff throughout the day. Why does it annoy me? Well, I tend to press my lips together so hard that it makes my jaw hurt and of course, my lips. I guess practicing mindfulness more would help curb the habit, but I literally go back to doing it seconds later after having realized I'm doing it.

I constantly tell people I'm fine thanks when I'm not fine thanks.

Edited by Fate: 11/23/2020 10:45:17 PMI frequently reload my gun in games after firing a few shots Which gets me killed a lot because I get jumped as I’m reloading When did I start this habit Back during rainbow six Vegas So I wouldn’t get caught reloading best to reload before you run into a enemy Than to fire once and then get caught reloading my philosophy And it works 99.9% but it’s also been a problem That .1% where I die because of it annoys me For the most part it’s a good habit because i have never been caught with only 1 bullet in the chamber lol

Pacing problem. Usually happens when I'm under stress or if I'm impatient; sometimes both.

I'm just insanely socially awkward. Does that count?

This started happening a couple months ago and I have no clue why, but whenever I’m playing any game on PS4, I will have the habit of rapidly pressing and holding the PS button and pressing it again (which brings up the quick menu and closes it) about 2-3 times every minute or so but it seems to go away for a while when I’m either watching an important cutscene or doing something which requires me to rapidly press buttons. It is annoying because I’ve lost quite a few fights and such because of it.

When I don’t know what to say to someone, I always end up asking, “How’s school?” Or, “How’s work?” It gets frustrating when you want to talk about something meaningful, and school and work can be such dull subjects.

I find myself often grabbing and pulling my pants at the crotch area to get my ballz situated. Feels good to me, but I know it’s frowned upon in front of people.

I have a bad foot tapping thing, god do I get nagged at for it. I once had on some dress shoes and everyone in the room could here me tapping my foot.

That's not a habit. That's a coping mechanism/defense. I would say your annoyance is partially due to the pain and discomfort you're experiencing from it. But also the fact that you're waking up to the fact that there is a compulsive aspect to it...and that you might be using it to distract yourself from something else. If you are practicing mindfulness. Don't focus on the habit. Use the mindfulness to get past the habit...and the physical discomfort....to what they are probably trying to distract you from. Because of the pandemic, everyone is under unusual kinds...and unusual amounts of stress.

As a motorbike rider sometimes when I just need to go down the road quickly, I can't be bothered getting charged into more appropriate clothes. Or if I'm going out with friends and running late, it's always quicker to take the bike. So I end up riding off still in a dress or skirt. You can try to tuck it under and sit on it, but sometimes you can't really do anything with it. So it just does its thing in the breeze. Don't really care cos know one can see who I am under my helmet. But you know someone is always looking, so there is always a minor hint of embarrassment. But not enough for me to really care. (≧∇≦*)

Sometimes I become so inquisitive, I do not think before I ask an obvious question.

When doing literally anything on my computer, I’ll spam the tab key with my pinky when there’s a break in what I’m doing. Sometimes it screws with what I’m doing, and I’m still not too sure what initiated it.

I’m pretty sure I have ADD. My mom is too. I never got tested because my moms kindof the Reject Modern Medicine I Can Fix It Myself™️ type. I have hundreds of habits that have stemmed from me being unable to sit completely still for 10 seconds. If I’m wearing a hoodie, I cannot stop playing with the strings. I’ll mess with them constantly. If I can’t play with hoodie strings, I pick at my fingers till they bleed. If I’m not doing that, I find a random object and carry it around for hours just fiddling with it. Most times I don’t even notice I picked something up. If I’m doing something that requires using both my hands like video games, homework, reading, then I have to be doing something with my feet. Usually I trace the outline of the floorboards with my toes or if I’m lucky, I’ll find some object I’ve thrown on the ground and kick it around for a while. I wish I could get into the habit of using fidget toys or just tapping my fingers but instead I always end up doing something annoying like destroying my cuticles or breaking things.

I’ll often slur my s’s. I don’t quite know how to stop doing it.

I will bite the inside of my cheek sometimes

Whenever I grow my hair out, I keep messing with it and it gets kinda annoying cause I can't stop doing it.

Edited by Cultmeister: 11/23/2020 10:06:59 PMMy brain has decided that the best time to start doing some very involved task is right in the middle of some other very involved task. So I’ll be in the middle of tidying a cupboard for example, with boxes and stuff all over the floor, and then suddenly get distracted by the idea that I should reorganise my music collection, and then I’ll go and do that instead, and then like an hour later I’ll go back over to the crap all over the floor and decide that I can’t be bothered to finish and just throw it all back in the cupboard.
