Unfortunately Bungie cannot issue you a refund as you did not buy it from them. All refunds must go through the retailer who sold it and are subject to their refund policies.

  • That's really unfortunate, I feel scammed. It's a shame my experience with Destiny has to come to an end like this. Thank you for your help.

  • Scammed? You played through the full campaign and then wanted your money back and you think they scammed you? Steam's return policy is very forgiving but they and no one is going to let you play a full campaign and then give you money back. It seems no matter the result your experience with Destiny was coming to an end so enjoy whatever game let's you play and refund at your leisure

The campaign took me exactly two hours, which might I add is Steam's cut off for refunds. You need to complete it to get the new abilities and access content. Are the story missions what you think people buy the DLCs for? If so you're mistaken. Also Steam does not have a forgiving refund policy, there are numerous complaints on Steam's policies mostly for this reason. I know you like this game and support Bungie, but you don't need to be upset at me for disliking such a lazy and barebones DLC.

  • 1. You might want to look up what the definition of scam is. Your situation is not a scam. 2. Noone forced you to preorder. You easily (and probably should’ve) waited until after the dlc was released to get people’s viewpoints on it before making your own decisions to buy/not buy. 3. You’ve only scratched the surface of what this dlc/season provides. Personally, I’m enjoying the fact that we can now personalize our stasis subclass in multiple ways to suit our playstyle or for the content we are playing. It’s no longer a cookie-cutter type.

  • I'm glad you're enjoying your experience friend, like I told the other person commenting on this: just because we have different opinions on this game doesn't mean you need to come at me with insults. I was told by Bungie this was gonna be a huge update. So far all I see is the crucible is chaos, stasis is 100% broken in PvP, we got another lack luster series of story missions, and I just have nothing left to defend this game with. We get promised big exciting DLCs and then get Beyond Light and I'm over it. scam /skam/ nouninformal noun: scam; plural noun: scams a dishonest scheme; a fraud. "Buying Destiny 2: Beyond Light is a scam."

  • Where has anyone in this thread “insulted” you? I see nothing of the like. Where was anything said that this will be a huge update? In fact, there were multiple times where it was clearly said to only be about the size update Shadowkeep was & will be nowhere near as bug as something like Forsaken and/or Taken King in D1. When Bungie first showcased some of the new stasis abilities/exotics, a great deal of pvp-mains (and even casual pvpers) immediately commented on how this was going to break pvp. All this even before the dlc came out...so you could’ve/should’ve used that as a red flag to reconsider your purchase while you still had a chance to refund.

  • I don't watch Destiny You Tubers and my not doing so has no bearing on liking or not liking the game after playing a new DLC. I was lead to believe it was a huge update, I don't know where it was disclosed that it wasn't. You're so toxic and condescending, I am looking to a solution to purchase in a game I don't like, my apologies.

Nowhere did i say you had to watch YouTube for any of this information. I don’t really watch much either. Most of my information comes from here on the forums with what Bungie & others post/comment. And you’ve been given your only solution for a refund (contacting steam), but since they won’t do it then you are simply out of luck for that. Now the decision is yours....either walk away, or try to make the most of your $50 purchase & see if things get better for you. And just because we don’t see eye to eye on this does NOT make my points toxic and/or condescending.

  • This dlc is not all that different than others. If you felt it was lazy you could have refunded in under 2 hours. Finishing the campaign just granted you permanent access to the new subclass, which you could try out during the campaign. And I am not upset at you, I find it laughable that you feel scammed by a very well known return policy that has nothing to do with Bungie.

  • Right my problems with Steam's refund policy have nothing to do with Bungie, although I like I said I wasn't aware of the time restrictions. But if you think this DLC didn't change the game in a major way than you're sadly mistaken again. Stasis has changed the game on a fundamental level with freezing abilities which has drastically altered PvP (the part of this game I put the majority of my time into). Also if you think trying stasis for 30 seconds to a minute in the campaign would prepare me for the changes to crucible I think we're playing two different games. I was cheated, Bungie removed so much content in this DLC, the game feels like a completely different experience to what I liked about Destiny (with the exception of gun play which is still fantastic) like I said I'm sorry you're so upset at me, but this in no way concerns you.
